Maybe its good that you pointed it out,as most foreigners think that British is English. He did very well, and is supported by many across the UK.

BEDLAM: Think you got that the wrong way round! Usually British when winning, Scots/Irish/Welsh when they lose. But even the commentators are referring to Chris as "the Scot/Flying Scot/Scotsman".

It's interesting that you refer to him as 'Scottish cyclist Chris Hoy'. Whereas if he were English, he would be refered to as 'British cylclist.....' or just 'Cyclist'! Are you Scottish by any chance? I'm not being critical, I just find it interesting.
