i have this neighbor friend, who doesnt work, and i stay home with my 3 children all day- so i see her alot, she's envolved herself with my kids- gets them little presents, she calls me like 10 times a day.. anywayshe's nice. but

first, let me say she's NOT old-like 48? she asks me questions, like "when is your husband coming home from work?" and i'll tell her, then 15 minutes later she'll say "is your husband working today?"

im like, "yea, remember, i said he'll be home at 6:00" and she'll just say "oh"

dude, this goes on every single conversation!! its really annoying! i know she's not senile, i feel like she asks question just to hear herself talk or something, because obviously she's not listening to the answers i give. how do i handle this, without being impatient? because i feel like lately, it must be noticeable that its getting on my nerves.

she also gets offended VERY easily, she's very defensive, says she's got ADD (i think thats all in her head), restless leg syndrome, chronic asthma, panic disorder, carpel tunnel syndrome - whatever else, i think she just likes to have drama surrounding herself, do you think she is just wrapped up in herself?

  1. either what the first guy said....... or she just runs out of things to say to you and so not to feel ackward, she comes up with a whole bunch of other things and even repeats herself

but it kinda sounds like she might be a little wrong in the head

    who knows?

  2. I wonder I she has short term memory loss, It definitely sounds like she's got a problem though. Try if at all possible not to get too irritated with her. But don"t let her monopolize your time. After all you are a busy mother with 3 kids to care for. Tell her kindly that you can't visit all the time,You have laundry to do etc.
