  1. Dog + Cat <> Bad

That is so untrue and so sad that someone would believe or say that.  Cats and dogs live together happily in many pet homes.

Allowing a cat to go outside is pretty much condeming it to a less than normal life span.  Outdoors they are exposed to animals that can injure/kill them or give them diseases.  They face stray cats that carry many lethal diseases and because they live outdoors, know how to truly fight and harm your indoor cat.

Then there are poisons for rodents and bugs, people who hate cats and trap and/or kill them, people who catch them to use for bait to train fighting dogs and even sell to labs for experimentation.   But most likely, cats will meet a speeding vehicle.

I pick up cats off the roadside all the time.  Rarely do they have any id or an owner that is searching for them, but I always try to find one.  Many people assume that an outside cat is a not loved cat and sadly, in many cases, they are probably correct.  But that is the very, very, very small possibility, like a fairy tail.  Millions of cats die every year.

Please, if your kitty returns or you get a new one, keep them INSIDE.  Work with people to help your cat and dog get along or to make safe places for both to live happy lives in your home.

  2. I don't think she is dead I think she has found a new home where they don't have a dog.

  3. well that is a small possibility but that also happened to my cat but it was a guy...and he started to leave more often...but then his leavings became more longer and we had found out he had a new owner... so that could be the case....and if not it could be that the dog is scaring it away.

  4. I had a cat once that accidentally got out.  He was gone for 2 weeks and I was worried sick about him, then all of a sudden he came home!    You said she's never been back this long, but I think you mean she's never been gone this long.  Once she comes home, I would definitely not let her out any more even if she begs you to get out.  There's just too much that can happen to them.  Hope she shows up soon.

  5. Well, it's the cycle of life.  And I don't want to tell you yes shes alive and went back home, or she'll come back. But be prepared for the worst. I hate to say that. And if she's been gone for two weeks I don't really know what to say. I've heard stories from my friends that their cat or dog has been missing for a couple weeks but they return. So like I said be prepared for the worst. Sorry.

  6. First of all I LOVE cats! Also, I had a cat who all of sudden ran away an was gone for 2 months. I thought he was gone and then all of a sudden he came back. So there is hope for your cat! However, you never know. I hope your kitty comes home! :)

  7. Dog+Cat= Bad

Yes. The cat probably got scared of the dog because cats are scared of dogs because their big and have sharp teeth (sometimes.) So, it probably wasn't the best idea to get a dog. She hasn't been eating because shes to scared. She probably is in a new home. Did you have a collar for your cat? Address, phone, name? If you didn't threres no way the other people can return her. Try putting up some posters. My cat went missing and it's been a few years now. My cat probably got ate by coides because we live in a desert place. My adult friend found my cat's collar up on the mountain and the collar was chewed a little. I'm so sad :[

  8. i love cats but maybe she dosnt like da new dog

  9. I think she found a new home because she didn't like your new dog.

My neighbor's cat decided to live at our house.  The neighbor said the cat didn't like their dogs and would it be okay if she lived with us.

Why not put up flyer's, phone the humane society and put an ad in the paper to see if anyone has her.

  10. The dog could definitely be a reason for your cat not returning.  She could be coming back, maybe at night when you can't see her lurking around.

How old is she?  I wouldn't assume her dead yet.  Two weeks might seem long to you, but it's nothing to your cat.  Is she fixed?  She could have found a mate/had kittens that are now occupying her time.  She might never return home, but you shouldn't assume she is dead.

This is the serious downfall to allowing your cat outdoors.

For the time being, think of the happy things she could be doing, rather than the negative things that could have happened to her.  Perhaps she's found a kitty friend to explore new places with.
