  1. It has effected truck and SUV sales but the economy has slowed down all car sales.  I even read that the value of trucks and SUV's are so down that some banks are not even bothering with repossessing trucks and SUV's for now.  The cost of paying someone to bring in the truck and then reconditioning it for sale for such a low price is costing them money.

  2. I think the sales figures speak for themselves.  For the first time in a decade the Ford F-150 is not the best selling vehicle in the USA.  It was beat out by the Honda Accord.

Truck factories (both Ford & Chevy) are actually shutting down production and re-tooling so they can begin to produce cars instead.

The reality is that we don't really need to drive such huge vehicles. Smaller more efficient cars work just as good.

  3. I know it is definitely swaying alot of people here in Texas to sell their larger vehicles for something smaller and more gas effecient.

I on the other hand, really need a larger vehicle to support my family of 5 so I need a van no matter what.

  4. Well, I went to a car sale about 2 weeks ago looking for a small SUV, that got good gas mileage. The dealer just in for the sale, from Florida(name was Barry) came rushing out to assist us. (Weber-Harris Ford Meadville, PA) He told me that every thing in this lot for sale, were reposest vehicles. DUH we believed him. He said, I have a car just for you. He brought out a 2005 Ford Explorer. I told him, I wanted a small  SUV. he said, well mam, this car gets 24 mpg. I said, yea right. Well, we took it for  a spin. The thing is I love SUV's. This  car had everything you could think of. I thought even though it only gets about 18 mpg, I DO, like it. So, my friend and I bought it. They told me, i would get a $1,000.00 cash back bonus, well I never got it. They did however give me a $100.00 check for gas.

Well, guess what. It gets 12 mpg. Gas here is $4.00 per gallon. It is a 22 gal tank. So it cost $88.00 to fill up. I guess you can guess, I don't drive it much. The vehicle cost is $16,000. My payment is $312.00./ month. Do you know what the blue book is? Under $15,000.00. I bet Barry  is livin' high off the hog. I am am dumb for buying that thing. I am trying to sell it. You want it?
