Do you think smokers should be fined for dropping f*g ends on the floor, when chewing gum is a bigger problem?

out side the night clubs and pubs in Burnley , the chewing gum on the pavement looks like a patterned carpet, surley this is more of a menace (more costly) than f*g ends. also the government will make your council tax go up to fight the f*g end problem because they are not giving more money to the councils to cover the clean up, where will this madness end.

when will the non smokers get their heads from up their a***s and stop bowing down to the labour (patronising knowitall) think tanks that realy decides policy in this country,

ps where is the democracy in that?

Both should be fined its littering and i think the smoking ban is a good idea but more needs to be done as they still smoke at bus stops etc!

I quite agree this country is fooking shank with all its rules and nannying and politically correct swollocks and it really pishes off I hate this fooking S**t place with all the immigrants is it politically incorrect or against human rights to send them back when it is those people that cause most of the crime and overcrowd our jails we didnt have this problem before they starting flooding in. By the way killing us smokers of early will only make your taxes go up because they wouldnt be getting the income from the sales and then your interest rates would go up these non smokers are just busy bodying do gooders that cant see the bigger picture or past there nose for that matter

Yes. They should be fined. Just in case you haven't noticed gum-chewing doesn't kill ppl who know full well wat it can do. besides, throwing anything on the ground is called littering, so the smokers are in for it anyway if they don't dispose properly. Gum chewers too. But, come on, you sound sooo rediculous! You can't even compare gum chewing to those stupid rolled up killers.

My sentiments exactly but up in Edinburgh they have machine they use at night when quiet to try and get as much gum off the pavements and agree they should be fined the same as smokers here if they drop a cigarette on road or pavement fairs fair.

At least a cigarette end can be swept up. Chewing gum is also impossible without a lot of effort.

but in answer to your question. I think it IS a good idea that you get find for throwing cigarette butts on the floor, especially when there are LOADS of places to stub them out. However, i also think that people should be fined for spitting chewing on the floor because it really does just make a place look horrible.

I think tobacco companies should increase the amount of harmful chemicals in their products so that smokers die faster.  Then we can be rid of the plague that they are.
