It was reversed July 3, 2008 under pressure from environment groups.

Happy 4th of July, Patriots!

Didn't you know? Getting news from YA? I wonder how many people agree with our government and want solar banned (for 2 years or 20 or so).

  1. Exactly the opposite we should be doing everything in our power to get solar in as many homes and businesses as soon as possible.

  2. Could, or would you explain just what brought this question up?

Are you somehow assiciated with another citizen group to ban solar energy, or do you have a belief that it might be harmful in some way?

I know there are many that are opposed to wind power, but this one is new to me.

Asker:  If you think this additinal information as any vindication of  your original question,. think again, as these articles are regarding the governments placing a moritorium only on public lands, and does not in any way affect the common citizen from the solar power installations.

Your question is very misleading at best.,

  3. is this a trick question? NO!!

  4. I think the major electric companies would protest as they are starting to use solar and wind energy to go green.

  5. Please read the article before you ask stupid questions about it.

The gov stopped building solar plants on public (aka government, taxpayer, etc.) owned undeveloped land. Large photovoltaic arrays on natural, undisturbed land may have an ecological impact. Therefore, they put a hold on it so they could asses the potential impact.

The way you phrased your question made it seem as though there is something inherently bad about solar energy (dangerous, etc.), and it was becoming illegal, for instance, for a person to put them on their roof. This is NOT the case.

  6. Only after they find a cure for stupidity.

  7. no.  i don't see any reason why it should be.  it's hardly a controversial source of power.  it's not like we are going to use up all the sunlight

  8. no? i mean, why? at the end of the day after the oil runs out, we will be forced to go alternatives and solar is one of it. in Germany, a country where in it gets only little sun are the no.1 country for using solar?

and, if we will only capture all of the solar power in one single day it can provide energy to provide power to the world for a year! come on pal, open your mind.
