Question:

Do you think something has been altered to make the IPL more entertaining?

There's been a lot of talk about the ground being smaller, rubber being put into the ball, the use of flat pitches to make the game more entertaining. These may all be conspiracies.

BUT

This tournament has had a lot of money being put into it, people wouldn't put their money into something that has the potential to be a flop.

  1. I think we just stop making stories and enjoy it

  2. Only a problem if conditions are different for each side in the same match.

  3. Most probably!  especially when the light went off for an hour the other night during the KKR against DC match at Eden gardens stadium.  The game nearly end up in a draw, you would think that with all that money being put in they could afford to pay electricity bills LOL!!!....  we will soon find out when the aussies boys gets home and see what they've got say about it.

  4. 20/20 itself is entertaining.

the games played in australia were awesome.

not to mention the final between wa and victoria.

the games are very batter friendly and bowlers are always going to struggle to do well.

really dont think the flat pitches bit is right.

game between hyderabad and kolkata saw the ball turn inconsistently.

  5. Sounds like a conspiracy to me, someone is obviously trying to disparage it. Why they would need to resort to those tactics is beyond me, if they just concentrated on what the IPL is doing to world cricket as a whole they'd still have a reasonable argument.

By the nature of the game Twenty20 is always going to be more exciting and run friendly so (again) saying that is a little silly. And besides, if the IPL failed to conform to the codes and rules of the game then it really wouldn't be allowed and more players would be baned (it'd be like the breakaway leagues of the 70s and 80s). There's too much money in it to resort to those tactics and too much money in it to fail. People should just enjoy it for what it is.

  6. The use of flat pitches and bringing in the boundaries is very common for Twenty twenty games. Does this mak it more entertaining? of course! But as with the issue of the balls, you'll have to ask the players. The scores in the IPL haven't been extreme, in fact there have been some low scores in there as well!

I think the IPL for the most part has been well organised, and attracted GREAT players from around the world, without the players the IPL would be nothing! They are the reason it is so entertaining - and no one can claim they are part of some big conspiracy! Unless its a conspiracy to produce some of the most entertaining cricket we have ever seen!
