Some people claim they are humans traveling back from the future and that they look at us as little more than we would look at "cave dwellers" or science experiments...and sometimes they see us as just vessels/bodies for them to keep their spirits/souls/minds in.

This interview has some interesting ideas in it. I think the guy went paranoid and died, so take some of the ideas with a grain of salt, but some of it is definitely possible.
