It could.  A number of jobs require that you go for drug tests, which are not always accurate.  Prescription medication can cause a test to prove positive.  If you are taking any prescriptions, check out your medicines with your doctor.  A positive test will not get you hired.

i worked at subway in HS and i didnt have to take one. But that was about 8 years ago so it might have changed

Well, I've been in there several times to buy a sandwich and they've never tested me. Maybe if I ordered a drink, too, then they would.
