Come September, two of my classes are going to be Italian and French, I've been taking the Italian class for all three years and chose the French class as one of my electives for senior year. Do you think that was a mistake? Is it hard learning two languages at once?

  1. not if you remain organized.

It has been proven that once you learn one second language, the next are ALOT easier.

    Goodluck :)

  2. You should be able to cope You just have to find a balance. My sister is taking 3 languages and shes not exactly the brightest.

  3. I don't think it should be too hard, because Italian and French are both Romance languages that stem from Latin. Knowing one will help you on another. The only problem is making sure you don't confuse words.

  4. No, I've found it fine. Once you've been learning one for a while, the rest are a lot easier. Once you're learning 2, learning any more gets even easier

  5. As long as you remain organized. Just dont try to confuse yourself, you've been taking italian for awhile so you'll probably be fine.

  6. No, I don't think it's a mistake at all!  You've been studying Italian for 3 years and although you're continuing with it, it seems like some part of you is ready for new challenge.  You may find that studying French actually improves your performance in Italian.  I don't know why exactly, but I think the brain performs better when it's challenged.

    Buona fortuna!

  7. Well, italian and French are pretty close. they have a lot of the same sounds and whatnot. I'm taking French and Spanish which is really easy for me and i'm really only an average student.

  8. If you keep yourself organized, and keep thing separate, you should be fine. I had to take Spanish last year, and I chose to take French (that is what I wanted to be in but I had to take both). It was kind of difficult but the teachers were understanding if you go things confused because they knew you were taking two languages. I think you should be fine.

  9. Since you have been taking Italian for three years you plan to take French I think it is great that you have done this. You will find that all languages are basically the same.
