  1. Absolutely not!

  2. NO WAY!!!  I am a teacher and although I have had my fair share of behavior problems I have never even had the urge to do so.  I majored in special ed (in addition to early childhood ed) and in that coursework I learned several strategies to get appropriate behaviors, carry out behavior intervention plans, etc.  I had two behavior intervention plans this year, and although it took a couple of months before we got any results, watching that growth is amazing!!!  Teachers are role models, they teach academics and behavior.  I would never want to teach students that it's ok to hit someone and humiliate them.  This comment does not apply to spanking from the parents, what they do is their business (as long as it's not abuse).

  3. I think that if the parent doesn't discipline their child and the student is constantly in trouble, then corporal punishment should be allowed.

  4. No!  No one should have to punish that way.  People rely on physical punishment when they're either incapable of punishing appropriately or incapable of controlling themselves.

  5. Not sticks and whips, but just good ol fashion spanking like in the good ol days

    Whatever happened to that?

They take it away, say it's illegal, and then they wonder why the kids are so bad  *SHEESH*
