  1. I think AP Physics would be hard for anyone. I also took AP Physics before taking Calculus and I got an A both semesters, but I did get a 2 on the test. I really don't think that taking Calc first would have made that much of a difference, the only thing it would have done is help finish certain problems a little faster, but I don't think it would have helped me too much understanding the concept. I actually did better than a lot of other students that were taking Calc, it really depends on you. So, no not taking Calculus will not hurt your chances of getting a A.

  2. I, too, am going into Pre Calculus next year (my school does not offer Honors Pre Calculus). I also took Algebra 2 over the summer. I was originally going to take Honors Chemistry my Sophomore year, but I realized during the summer that I could take Ap Physics B... I was also more interested in the class.

I got A's in Algebra 2 over the summer as well... Ok, so you get the idea... We're practically in the same boat.

Ok, so now to your question. AP Physics B does not use any calculus. It focuses on Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry... So no, not taking Calculus will not hurt your chances of getting an A in that class. I've heard that the math isn't that hard... It's just the concepts.

Focus, study, do all your homework, do practice problems, study, and succeed.

I know that you will get an A in AP Physics throughout the year.

    Good luck.
