There were some suggestions in the past. I remember Mohammad Ali comment "I cannot imagine a world without Boxing"

My own opinion: Boxing should not be called a sport, and should be banned.

  1. nothing should be banned but i hate boxing

  2. Why? did you try to box and get your *** kicked or something?

  3. I think if 2 grown men want to step into the ring together with the full knowledge that the other guy is going to try to injure you and knock you out by giving you a concussion(a.k.a bruise on your brain), that they should be able to do just that.  I wouldn't recommend anyone do it. But who am I to stop them? They know what they are getting into.

BTW what does it matter if it's called a sport or not? O_o

    Does that change something somehow?

    AMENDED RESPONSE:

I wouldn't say I 'support boxing'. What I don't support is banning a voluntary activity that hurts no one but the willing participants. Especially when it is a sanctioned event in a controlled (somewhat) environment like a boxing ring. You 'ban' it and it's gonna go underground. Is that better? I don't think so... not at all.

  4. I dont think it should be band. Its a sport and an art, people actually enjoy it. Some people who box against each other are actually friends. Its just like Chinese martial arts. Martial arts is a part of China and their culture and arts I really couldnt imagine them with it, and some forms are really beautiful.

  5. You should just be glad they don't have Pankration as a sport or event in the Olympics still. Too bad too, I would definitely watch that event.

  6. Aks the boxers this question and i think you know the answer!!

if you don't like boxing don't watch it.

if you ban boxing then you'll have to ban tae kwon do, fencing and every other contact sport.

  7. Why should it?

If you don't have a reason, then I would suggest you to not ask these questions

  8. BOXING IS A MAN SPORT

UR A WIMP THAT PROBABLY HAS GIRL FEELINGS

  9. Altho I don't watch boxing, and there have always been scoring problems, I don't feel it should be banned.  It is a legitimate sport, even if you don't think so,  and many people follow it and enjoy watching it.

  10. no

  11. Boxing is fine to me.

  12. i have trained boxing before and i think it would be a bad idea to ban it, maybe ur against it because u fight other people but its good exercise i think one of the best. if u havent trained box before u wont understand this, besides its a good thing to learn it could safe ur life one day. i think its one of the best sports so forgive me what im going to say but dont be a p***y....

  13. How the heck is boxing not a sport? Sport is basically any organized event with rules requiring physical movement. Just because it is violent doesnt make it a non sport. Besides, it's not like gladiatorial combat where youre FORCED to fight. Boxers fight because they want to.

Boxing is a great sport, and should not be banned.

  14. Cant really say coz every martial art would be banned on those grounds toooo....

and people arent very humanitarian these days....Entertainment value and egocentricism of these sports are toooo high to be banned!

  15. at first ur question seemed strange to me, as i support fighting sports to increase personal self-defense ability, & attack if needed. also it says: teach your sons swimming, throwing, horse-riding.

but those links proved that it is a d**n rather than a sport! it can lead one player to death!

i really don't know. now, i hate boxing & think it should be banned, but still like kung-fu!!! (don't know if there is a difference in the principle why they should be banned)

  16. I don't understand why? Do you not like the scoring system? nobody does that will be changed that has been stated.

well if it's too violent for you then guess what

DON'T WATCH, THERE'S ALWAYS RERUNS OF MARTHA STEWART LIVING FOR YOUR TYPE

  17. Why would you ban something nobody is forced to participate in? I don't watch it, don't care for it. But why ruin things for those who choose to train and want to do it. What, are the hall monitors running the world now adays?

  18. why would you stop two consenting people from doing something they enjoy? a more appropriate stance on the issue is "i will never box because i think it is dangerous." trying to control others who do things you do not approve of is very selfish as well as childish

just because someone doesn't like something doesn't mean there should be rules or laws against it. i don't like saturday morning cartoons anymore. does that mean they should be banned? of course not. i also don't like driving in my car and i think it's dangerous. should it be banned? of course not.

to open the door to banning things you feel negatively about it to open the door to banning things EVERYONE feels negatively about, and going by the fact that no two people share the exact same feelings about everything, the world will definitely be a terrible place when someone like you gets their way
