They chose the same day to invade (Georgia ?) as china opened its olympics.

They probably are, because the Chinese are a very proud people. But even the news didn't cover the events in Georgia as much as you would have though. Given the circumstances, it was downplayed a lot.  

Allegory, that was a ridiculous answer. You have a generalized biblical explanation of glory, but never referenced China nor Russia. Your answer sucked.
