Think about it. They have as many people playing basketball (300 million) as the US has people.

  1. Well, if the US decide to help out Russia in the war against Georgie, and someone gets pissed off and decides to nuke all of the United States, Spain, Greece, and Argentina, then maybe.

  2. nope

  3. no i think america will alwayz b the best at baketball

  4. Being an Asian, I am cautious on the statement of genetic improvement via diet change - you have to strike a balance between strength, athleticism and technique.

Back to your key question, I would say it depends on whether the Chinese authority would change its over-emphasis in big men development into a balanced approach. If it is yes, they should be 1-2 steps closer to such goal in foreseeable future.

One may argue that Sun Yue's signing by Lakers means Chinese backcourt is getting better - the fact is, Sun Yue is a 6'9" GF and in terms of height, he belongs to the group of big men.

How about Chen Jianghua? Oh yes he made a nice penetration vs TEAM USA but he is just inconsistent enough, plus his perimeter shooting remains average.

The imbalance between frontcourt and backcourt has been the Achilles' heel of China for years, and it is the time for Chinese authority to let its backcourt players to play overseas, or history will be repeating again and again.

  5. Anything Is Possible

  6. only if america explodes

  7. nah...USA is the best!!But wat i like bout the china team is that they neva quit..

  8. No.  They are just not bred for basketball.  They look goofy as h**l on the court.

  9. Absolutely! Just as soon as their bodies acclimate to the toxins they're spewing into the air and the heavy metals in the foodstream!

  10. Yes, because everyone in China love the NBA and they want to be like Yao Ming or Ji Linian. And the kids over there play on anything type of surface, all they need is a hoop and some type of a ball.

  11. I highly doubt that

  12. no they are international type of team

  13. i dont really think so ..but u never know now a days what people are capable of doing when they set their minds to it..the way they played against the US today was great they showed they can play even tho they lost by a big margin was it like 30 pionts?..but there good not as good as the US tho

  14. no, because as china gets better and better, which they will, the nba will get better as well. you always see rising new stars coming into the nba and i just dont see any team being a better one than team USA.

  15. They lost to the United States by 30 points in the Olympics where they actually CARE where as the U.S (Although they seem to be caring a little more hence the "Road to Redemption" theme) cares more about winning in the NBA.

So no they never will be.

  16. Lol. No they won't. Quality over quantity. Right now they have no players even close to the level of Kobe, Lebron, Wade, or anybody on the USA team. They lack depth, speed, strength, and hops. However, they are good at 3s. Genetically, Asians are not the most athletic and in the most part will not develop the bone structure and natural strength of blacks like Lebron. They centers can grow tall like Yao, but they will always be skinny and weak compared to people like Dwight or Shaq.

GO USA BASKETBALL!! NOTHING LESS THAN GOLD THIS YEAR! Redeem Team.

  17. "Asians can become stronger genetically"?

    Whatever!

Asian basketball hasn't evolved enough to the point where their athletes are as aggressive as American ballers? Spain and Argentina have two worthy teams, thanks to NBA stars that have returned home to properly instruct the local talent in NBA ball. Does China really even have that many tall people, or are people like Yao an anomaly?

I'll be honest with you though, more and more Euros are adapting to USA ball. The Asians are catching up too. I'd say that within 12 years, American ballers will not dominate the sport. I think 2004 was just an embarrassment, but this year the US has more than a few equals out there. Germany, Argentina and Spain are three nations that are considerable opponents, thanks to the caliber of NBA stars on their teams.

  18. yes if they find another yao ming and their guards improve tremendously. right now, the guards are easy pickings for the americans. china runs the fast tempo which doesnt work and falls into usa game plan and neither can they run slow tempo like the european teams because their players are much smaller compared to usa. result - 30 point loss every time.
