  1. I think the E U  is a gathering or an organization for christian

countries and will never allow a muslim country to join or to

    become a member..

  2. No, not necessarily.

There may be other reasons  -- what are the reasons the European countries are claiming?

Does it have anything to do with their excursions into Iraq?

  3. Racism is not fashionable anymore. we have more politically correct discrimination methods now; that is religionism. the ideology shaped by the hawks starting from early 1990's in us and supported by many many european mental slaves who ironically would think that US is bad and who are driven by the fear atmosphere created and fed by Sept.11th.

Europe has always been discriminative and it did it always while claiming it was full of logic, human love and all that sh*t.

Continental europe has much much to learn from US and even UK when it comes to true cosmopolitanism.

I had the privilige to read a response from above who claimed that Turkey didn't have these attributes Europe had:

    - humanist heritage : that IS by far the best one. a continent which stirred the whole globe only 60 yrs ago and which prospered on its colonies by simply causing poorer people become even poorer claims now humanity as a heritage. aaaaa.

    - influence of the reformation: islam lacks the reformation; but if any power will achieve that in the world, that will be the Turks who has been living under a secular rule for the last 200 years. you wanna encourage that or whine about how S****y the world lately became?

    - indo-european language: that is really funny!! says who?? let's get finland out of the union! :)

    - post WW2 rejection of blind nationalism: the correct version is post WW2 rejection of blind nationalism in central europe until early 1990's. I don't see any lack of nationalism in europe nowadays. look in belgium, look in cyprus, look in croatia for god's sake.

    - judeo-christian heritage. the fact that it is not very popular nowadays, does not mean there is no islamic heritage in europe that affected its institituions. please note that history is written by the victorious. remember about andulisia or the eastern europe. you surely learnt something, come ooon. :)

  4. No, Europe set a few conditions for Turkey for EU membership. Surely Turkey will comply with them and will be able to join the EU.

  5. In the first place TURKEY is NOT in Europe. Less than 10% of its territory is in Europe. What kind of madness is this?

  6. No. Turkey is not a European country. They lack behind in human rights and political culture. Turks aren't a race but even if they were the answer would remain no.

I can support Turkish membership of the EU if they adapt and follow the rules. Our club, our rules

  7. Personally I consider Islam as an abstract nation apart from traditional countries, it is always trying to build up its legendary caliphate.

So I don't think it could be called racism, it is only a cultural antagonism with Islam caused by a good sense of cultural untolerance with habits born in the desertland just for nomads and extended without criterion to everyone belonging to that culture. Here in EU we are science "prone", instead of Islam which is religion prone.

If Turkish were Budhists or Zorohastrians I would feel the situation really different, but they are not.

  8. Nope.

  9. no

  10. It has nothing to do with the EU been racist. Firstly Turkey is not part of Europe. This site will explain the reasons against

    Turkey joining the EU.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accession_o...

  11. No! First of all "racism," as we commonly know it, is generally defined as a degrading practice or policy that is based on physical traits, like skin color.  Usually "racism" that we commonly understand is the notion of one "race" as "better that the other."

Stating that Turkey is not Europe and the Turks are not Europeans based on cultural, historical and religious reasons is simply not racism. This is not about skin color or physical attributes of Turks.

Putting Turkey into the European Union just to demonstrate that the EU is not a "Christian club" or is not "racist" is utter nonsense. These are also not legitimate reasons to become a Member State of the EU. The European Union is not the United Nations. Turkey should be part of an Asian-Mediterranean union and this is a better alternative than placing Turkey into the EU to "prove that the EU is not racist" or a "Christian club."

  12. Not more than you might be imperialist for trying to force your view upon us...

US politicians have repeatedly supported a Turkish bid to join the EU...  that would be like the EU campaigning in the US for Mexico to become a state. I hope you understand that. It is an aggression an violation of our freedom, of our democratic will.

And let´s speak about democracy... a majority of EU citizen are against a Turkish membership.

The Turkish president himself stated that Turkey in the EU would give a strong sign that 2 different civilizations can live together... so HE STATED CLEARLY THAT TURKEY IS A DIFFERENT CIVILIZATION.

And really it is not like you can not define European culture...

And more Turkey clearly misses more than half of the European cultural elements:

    - humanist heritage

    - influence of the reformation

    - indo-european language

    - post WW2 rejection of blind nationalism

    - judeo-christian heritage.
