  1. That's not really the expertise of GE, but there are some good companies making electric cars right now.

  2. Yes I think they should.

  3. No, I'm waiting for Tesla Motors to come to market with that one.

  4. It depends. The motor is the small part of the problem. We need to get vehicle weight and drag down. We still use 2400-3400 lbs of car to move 150-400 pounds of people.

  5. Please keep in mind that electric cars need to be recharged.  As in plugged in to the wall.  That electricity will probably be created by burning coal.  Since we cannot have any Nuke Plants.  I wonder how long the electric grid would hold up in California if everyone got home from work and plugged in their car.  So much for clean air.

  6. I don't care who makes it,as long as they do. But they won't because then we won't cough up money for their lavish lifestyles and would stop relying on oil, which would mean we could  actually be peaceful

  7. The only truly advanced vehicles are coming from overseas, GM and the big three have all done this song and dance many times before with the end result always the same...nothing!

  8. I would welcome anyone making electric cars

however most of GE profits come from govmt spending, and if they were to upset the oil co/whitehouse alliance they would get leaned on very heavily, eg loss of the defense (attack) contracts to israel & iraq and for fighters and tanks.

  9. They already did back in the 1990s. The electric car never made it to the market because of the push for hydrogen fuel cell technology.

Watch the documentary Who Killed the Electric Car.

  10. Only if they could make a profit doing so.  Why else would they build them?
