Question:

Do you think that I know what s*x the baby is, subconsciously? Did you do this?

I'm 18 weeks pregnant and I've had 2 ultrasounds. Needless to say, we still have not found out what s*x the baby is, however, I do say "he" all the time. Not intentional, it just comes out. I don't really think about it, I'll just say "he" when I'm referring to the baby. My mom seems to think that women, subconsciously, know what the s*x is. She said that I may know subconsciously and that's why I don't really think about it, I just say "he"...what do you think? Did you ever do this with your unborn child? Were you right? Just want some opinions....thanks.

  1. it would be great if we could! but i don't think it's true i referd to my bump as a he all the way and yet i had a girl even the ultrasounds can be wrong my friend was told she was having a girl and bought pink everything but gave birth to a boy!!

you just never no but that's all part of the fun!

  2. I'm in my 24th week and still don't know whether it's a boy or a girl. But I'm quite sure it is a boy and I talk to him as if it's a boy. I'll really be surprised if "he" turns out to be a girl on the delivery day.

P.S. My husband doesn't want me to find the s*x of the baby, but I know he's secretly hoping for a baby girl. One of us will surely be surprised.

  3. Well I'm 16 weeks and I do the same thing but I find out in 2 weeks. U do have a 50% chance and  I hope and pray I am right..my mom thinks its a girl but my grandmother thinks its a girl...I still think its a boy and that my junior is coming

  4. you never know, my womens intuition told me with both of my kids were going to be boys...but i was blessed with 2 girls

  5. 40 weeks and due today. When I first found out I was pregnant I just knew it was a girl. But I am having a boy. LOL But hey you may be right. You have a 50/50 chance. LOL Good luck to you and your baby.

  6. I had a feeling right from the very beginning that I was having a boy; i had dreams about boys, I called him "he" all the time, and I never even thought much about girl names. Everyone swore I was having a girl, all wives tales pointed to girl, chinese calendar said girl,  and everyone thought karma would give me a girl. I even wanted to have a girl before finding out i was pregnant, but the day I found out that all shifted.

Ultrasound clearly showed a boy, so I was right. It's really a 50/50 thing but I like to think my motherly intuition kicked in right away.

  7. when i was pregnant every one kept saying that i was having a boy, due to the fact that there is more boys in my husband and mines family's.

but i knew deep down that i was having a girl even bought some baby girls clothes that i never showed anyone till after and i was right i had a healthy 8 pound 3 baby girl. so i do believe that you do know.

  8. my son was born 8.8.08 and my first whos now 2 1/2 is a girl .....its funny because when i was pregnant with her i was like imm having a girl im having a girl.....now with my 2nd pregnancy we wanted a boy (although you know it didnt matter either way) but this time around there wasnt even any question about girls names or anything everything was he and preparing for "a boy" i got my sonogram at 14 weeks and they said its a boy and besides if u been preg befor maybe u look a lil differnt or feel diff..with my son i was less sick less "growing pains" a "glowing more" and better skin...andi carried like a soccer ball not so wide like i did with my girl...AND....if u been going to diff places to get ur ultrasound say at the next one something like " So, is it still a boy? (lol)" Or "Does 'he' look ok" cause maybe they just dont wanna tell you...i was dying to find out both times though because it fun to shop and pick names and try to put a face to your baby....who he or she is gunna look like...you or daddy?.....well good luck to you enjoy it and let me know the s*x...bye

  9. LOL ok I am 19 weeks pregnant with my second child and I called both of them "she" well the first one I found out it was a boy so I was wrong there and then yesterday I found out I'm having can you guess another boy. So I honestly don't think subconsciously you know what you are having. But who knows. But good luck I hope you and your baby have a very healthy pregnancy.

  10. When I found out I was pregnant, I kept saying "she" whenever I talked about her. My husband really wanted a boy, and one day he just looked at me and asked why I always referred to the baby as being a "she" if we didn't know for sure. I didn't think much of it, and I just kept referring to the baby as "she", because I didn't like calling her "it". To be honest, I had this gut feeling from the day I found out I was pregnant that I was having a girl. I found out at 21 weeks that I am having a girl, and it was confirmed last week at my 4d ultrasound. I think it is possible, but I suppose everyone is different.

  11. I did when I was pregnant with my son. I didn't find out the s*x ,I just knew he was a boy, and I did what you are doing calling him he etc. I'm now pregnant with twin girls and had no idea what I was having until I found out through an ultrasound.

  12. i dreamt about my son almost 2 years before i fell pregnant, the only difference is my dream boy was blonde and my real boy has red hair. i always said he and found out at 18 weeks i was right.

i'm pregnant again but always thought i am having a girl (no dreams of baby this time) and the 18 week scan was inconclusive (due to bubs positioning and being breach) but possibly a girl. everyone i've spoken to has said it's a girl with only a handfull saying boy.

go with your gut... mine was right!

  13. I don't think it's that you know what the s*x is, I think it's just either YOUR subconcious want for a boy, or the fact that most women refer to the baby as a he.

  14. I always referred to my baby as "he" before I gave birth even though I was sure I was having a girl...I did have a girl.

I read somewhere that approx 75% of women are correct about the gender of their unborn child and I believe that. Having said that, it is normal for us to apply the male pronoun "he" to many things (inanimate objects etc) so i would use your use of "he' but what you actually think it is ... if that makes sense??

  15. with my first baby (a girl) I did and was right on the money.  But with my second (boy) i was wrong,  I think more because I wanted a another girl to play with  my oldest.  I'm happy with my son though. This one I really think it is a girl. lol lets see, because i really have no preference.
