I believe so because all the benefits that can come from it. Such as it would speed up the trial process, it would create more jobs, it would take away the burden we all face when we receive that jury duty letter in the mail. Come on do you want someone who doesnt know anything about the system say "life or death" when it comes to your situation? Lets face it were not doing a good job at it, i.e. O.J., Blake, Jackson. I heard a story once where a guy broke into a house and got hurt due to bad lighting and he sued and won!! Some people say its your civic duty to do jury duty, well I say my civic duty is to make sure justice is done by putting the best qualified person for the job on the job. I figure that you would have to have a bachelors degree or higher because educated people will understand more and not get tricked into the lawyers tricks (if the glove dont fit, come on people now). There is an experienced judge, lawyer, why not a jury? I have the basics for a plan but I need help.

  1. Absolutely not!  It is all about your civic duty.  It's already a conflict of interest to have judges who are on the payroll for the US government in our courtrooms.  We don't need twelve more people getting a paycheck.  It is the juror's responsibility to provide a decision based on their moral thoughts, not because they need to get a paycheck at the end of the day.

  2. Sure why not,it should be.Because we r human being and we have equal  right to do anything.

  3. No, its unconstitunioal and dangerous on so many levels.

  4. Shame on you!  Yes, Jury Duty can be a drag, but the whole reason we have "THE RIGHT" and "PRIVELEGE" to be a juror is because our founders understood what it was like to be judged by a "professional juror" or judge as it were.  They used to send accused persons to be judged 3000 miles away in England and not by a jury of thier peers, just an appointed judge.  They were deprived of thier possessions, due process (the right to face witness and be represented in court by a knowledgeable person of the law) and were treated as guilty until somehow they might be found innocent.  More often than not people were tried and convicted and sentenced before there was time to find out the truth.

The right to a jury of our peers is one of the greatest gifts given to us by our founders.  If you don't like it, go live in a country where there are no jury by peers and face a "professional judge" and pray to God you don't lose your head.

  5. THis system has been around for a long time.  There is a reason for that.  It seems to beat all alternatives!!!

We have profesional Judges.  Professional Juries simply opens up more opportunities for corruption
