  1. Yes, for the better. This is a classic case of addition by subtraction. He's a cancer who improves every place that he leaves.

  2. in a good way ;D

  3. they traded away their world series.

  4. You can't lose a very good player and be just as good without him.  With that being said, Jason Bay is solid and the Red Sox remain a top caliber team.

  5. oh for god shakes has it hurts us yet? no it hasnt end of discusson

  6. It will affect the way Big Pappy hits now that Manny is not hitting behind him. Boston is done this year!

  7. Well Manny hasn't been so hot  these last two years.

  8. It will, how are they gonna replace the numbers he had?

But, with time, he'll be forgotten, just like Fisk and Rice.

  9. yes because jason bay will never replace the future HOF-er manny

  10. I thought so, but Bay looks great so far. Manny is a playoff giant, so Bay has big shoes to fill, especially playing under so much pressure in Boston. I think Boston can still win it though if they stay healthy. Plenty of games left, but they play in a very tough division.

  11. I think it may little. The last couple years Manny hasn't produced up to expectation. Jason Bay is a great player but also is kinda getting old. Bay and Ramirez stats are almost identical in 2008 so far. I think Boston will be fine without him for now. I think Boston's biggest opponent right now are the Angels. They were swept in the series they played against them. Lester is doing awesome right now and Wakefield and Beckett need to step it up a little.

  12. They really can't win without Man Ram and they can't win with Papi feeling "unsecured" without a legit power hitter behind him.

  13. Yeah, In a good way 'cuz they now have Jason Bay

  14. I think Jason Bay is better than Manny Ramirez just because he could run and dive at a ball, or maybe hustle to first base like any other base runner can. Sure they will miss a power hitter, but I think Manny being traded will take out the distractions and it will give Terry Francona an easier job managing.

  15. Manny is a future Hall of Famer and they would never be able to replace his bat but the teams attitude is much better so I think they will be just fine without him.

  16. Yes, its going to make them better! Everyone outside of Boston say that this was a horrible move, and the Sox were stupid to do it. The truth is that Manny had become such an annoyance, distraction, and cancer in the clubhouse, the Sox had no other option but to get him out. The team has been playing with such enthusiasm since last thursday. The Sox have good pitching, which in the long run is what wins championships any way!

  17. Um let me think.... um oh yeah . DDUUHHH!!!! Isn't that obvious. That's like you not noticing that everyone's dead except for you because no one passes by your house anymore.

  18. They traded away a diminishing 37 year old OF who couldn't field consistently or run out plays for a 29 year old AllStar in the prime of his career with identical offensive numbers who plays the field better and has more speed.  I think Jason Bay will help the Red Sox more this season and in the future than Manny Ramirez could have.  Manny was a great player and played 8 great years in Boston helping them to 2 WS championships, but he isn't getting any younger and his attitude was hurting the team.  The Red Sox have only lost 1 game since getting Bay who has hit safely in each of his games in Boston.  Yes it affects the Sox, but so far everything has been positive.

  19. It will have its affects in both horrifying and unique ways. The Redsox are losing a RBI power house. Although they are coming in with Jason Bay who is faster and a better defender. Is this trade going to make the Redsox non contenders for playoffs or world series? Of course not but they will definetely need bay to give them what they sent to L.A Dodgers

  20. Well, its not like the Sox got nothing outta the trade, they got a great player in Jason Bay.  Now, im not sure if the shoes fit, but i think Bay will be good again with the Sox.  Very underrated player.

Personally, i think the Sox are fine.  Everything else is clicking for them.  They mite actually focus on baseball alil more now.

  21. Manny Ramirez is a great hitter and very good in the outfield, but Manny was not good for team morale and he didn't really want to play for the Red Sox. Without him the Red Sox are still a great team with plenty of good hitters. The Red Sox will lose a few HRs and RBIs, but still do well and have better morale.
