  1. Yes.  And Obama's speech!

  2. That doesn't mean anything.  The vast majority of what the government does is mundane stuff that nearly every politician will agree on.

  3. at this point you either are voting for either of them or your not

so i would say that isn't the issue

  4. That and I have a hunch that he has really used up everything he could have actually used.

  5. He chose Palin to try to steal away some of the women voters who would  have voted for Clinton.  He announced her the day after the Democratic Convention to steal the weekend headlines.  It is a gimmick and a stunt, and I think the American public is too smart to fall for it.

  6. Good question and point.  Too bad most Americans do not read or allow themselves to become more informed in the matters of serious issues.

  8. The presumptive GOP nominee has earned the nickname “Exxon John” for his close ties to Big Oil. Thirty-three former oil and gas lobbyists either work for or raise money for “Exxon John’s” campaign, and his energy scheme includes a jaw dropping $4 billion in tax cuts to the top five oil companies.

Under “Exxon John’s” energy scheme, Exxon Mobile – a corporation that makes $300,000 in the time it takes Californians to fill their gas tanks and recently reported record profits – would receive $1.2 billion in tax breaks.

Though “Exxon John” recently blamed our dependence on foreign oil on the inaction of "politicians in Washington" over the last 30 years, he himself has been in Washington for 26 years. In that time, he has developed a cozy relationship with Big Oil:

    • “Exxon John” McCain has at least 33 former oil and gas industry lobbyists raising money for or advising his campaign.

    • His campaign staff and fundraisers include former representatives of BP, Chevron Texaco, Exxon-Mobil, Shell, Sunoco, and the American Petroleum Institute.

    • At least one of McCain's lobbyists, Wayne Berman, continued to lobby on behalf of the oil and gas industry while working for McCain.

    • “Exxon John” McCain’s energy “plan” includes nearly $4 billion in tax cuts to the top five oil corporations, including $1.2 billion for Exxon-Mobile alone.
