I really want to work this summer. I don't know anywhere that hires at age 15 in Virginia. The law is so tough in Virginia. I'm thinking of going to talk to the manager at my local McDonalds and talking him into letting me work even though I'm 15 years old. What should i say? Do you think that i should do that?

Yes, I'm very desperate for a job.

  1. maby.

but you should apply for a bagger at a store

  2. McDonald's hires at 15 yrs old. Chick-fil-A also hires at 15.

  3. If it is not legal for 15 year olds to work, McDonald's is not going to hire you.

  4. As long as you get a work permit form your school counselors office they will hire you.

Personally, I hate food service - Many places will hire at 15 (Retail stores like Target, local shops, etc....) as long as you have a work permit and a method of getting there to work.

-----Since school is out for the summer, you can try doing odd jobs like babysitting, etc... until it comes back in session.  Or you could try calling the school to get more info (Even though school is out, there are usually plenty of people there during the summer doing administrative work or inservice. You may be able to talk to one of them about getting a work permit.  All it takes is a phone call.).

  5. I'm not sure about the laws in Virgina but im sure they would. there are diffrent  age requirements for all jobs. I'm in PA and the burger king down the road hires at 16 but my Mcdonalds hired at 15 so i work there..so just go ask....the worst thing they could do is not hire you.

(at 15 ((at least at my mcdonalds)) your allowed to do more than clean tables)

  6. I think like everyone said...yes, most likely if you get a work permit form school...however school is out for summer, so you would have to wait until school starts again to get one...but i would recommend doing something else...try doing jobs that will get you closer to what you want to do when you grow up...Want to go into fashion merchandising? Work in retail...Want to be a reporter? See if the local newspaper has internships. Also, if you don't need a job, volunteers are always needed, so I recommend that route as well. Good Luck!

  7. if you have a work permit.

  8. I think they would. As long as it's just over the summer and you're not hurting anyone lol
