  1. Though there were some dissenting Republicans, McCain's choice of Palin was widely hailed and is expected to appeal to the Republican base,

I never liked obama and after he picked a professional politician (biden) as a running mate, I like him even less.

  2. Far from foolish, he sees it as his only chance to win.  It just reinforces that he would risk the security of America in order to win an election.

  3. Sarah Palin is way better and more talented than Obama.

We may not know how much Palin can bring to the table, but true Americans cannot allow Obama to be president of the United States.

    Here are the reasons:

If Obama will win the election, he will OK the bill that allow under-aged girls to get abortion without parental consent.

    His voting record shows:  http://exemployee.wordpress.com/2008/04/...

Obama is a closet communist, and racist himself.

    Proofs:

    1) his followers openly hang a communist flag on an office's wall.

    2) Recent authentic sound clip of Obama making racist comment.

Vote McCain and Palin 2008 for your family, our troops, and future generations in America!

  4. She is good looking and yes that will help with votes, she is a women and that will help with votes, she is young and charismatic and that will help with votes.  Americans have stopped caring about issues and just vote on who they like the best.

Promise us everything and don't tell us how we are going to pay for them and we will vote for you............I'm just going to vote for the good looking one....All politicians are useless, I may as well have someone nice to look at while I pack for my Exodus to Australia.

  5. It was so stupid that.

There have been significant changes in perception of John McCain in the two days of polling since he named Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate. Since then, 49% of Republicans voice a Very Favorable opinion of McCain. That’s up six percentage points from 43% just before the announcement. Also, 64% of unaffiliated voters now give positive reviews to McCain, up ten points since naming his running mate.

There has been little change in perceptions of Obama since his Thursday night speech and the Palin announcement (see trends and other recent demographic observations).

  6. He gained my vote, cuz he did select an anti-establishment woman who fought against corruption in her own party, while Nobama chose a Washington insider.

  7. McCain locked in my support.  He put a young woman and a Washington outsider on the ticket, whereas Obama put the ultimate in Washington insiders on his ticket.

I'm also sorry to say I will never forgive the treatment of Hillary and her supporters by Obama, the DNC and the party establishment.  McCain has done well with his pick in my opinion, although I bet there are many Republicans ... (I'm thinking white rural southerners for example?) ... who are struggling with the thought of a woman holding down the number two slot!

  8. No, I think it was brilliant.

I was already planning on voting McCain, but this just made me more confident it is the right choice.

Face it, this is a winning ticket. There are a lot of disenfranchised Dems that don't like Obama, that may just vote McCain because Hillary is not on the ticket, but they want to see a woman push through the glass ceiling. No true conservative will ever vote liberal, no matter who is on the republican ticket. So even the chauvinists that don't like a woman on the ticket will still safely vote conservative.

Don't get me wrong, dems are the same way. Unlikely to switch their vote, but it is more of a possibility than with the Reps.

Traditionally 40% of Americans always vote Dem, roughly another 40% always vote Rep. The other 20% is what is known as the swing vote, and they are the people campaigns are really directed at.

Swing voters are cool, because they are generally informed and relatively unbiased. It works out well that they really control elections because they are generally the only ones actually researching the candidates fully.

I'm pretty sure the swing voters will be more in line with the McCain/Palin ticket than Obama/Biden. Mostly because McCain is closer to center than Obama who is so far left, he really is a socialist, but also because they will recognize that Palin is a gem among thieves. She may well be the only honest politician in America, and anyone that does their research (as swing voters usually do) will see. They will also see that Obama has done little more during his time as Senator than vote for tax increases or decline to vote at all. Given the choice between a homegrown politician that actually accomplishes change, and a politician that has as yet only talked about change, but has no record of doing anything useful, I would put money on them picking accomplished homegrown.

I didn't see any point in bringing Biden up, as he is quite literally inconsequential, and truly a poor pick for Obama.

  9. He made the best choice to be a footnote in history.

  10. might be foolish a little bit but Obama is worse.

  11. No, it was absolute brilliance and has the liberals wetting their pants right now!

    McCAIN & PALIN 08!!

  12. No it wasn't.

I was a strong supporter of Senator McCain before the announcement, so my vote wasn't swayed.  I do know of some people, some male, some female, who have now announced their support for him because of his choice, and they do so passionately.

  13.   McCains choice was not just a brilliant strategy to overshadow Obamas "big" moment, but his choice emphasizes a key element in this election.   There ARE qualified and experienced candidates out there, without the "political taint" of Congress on them.  She has a vitality, zest and "spirit" that fits McCain to a "T".  I see her winning the hearts and minds of Americans, ONCE she gets settled and into gear.  And Biden.............he WILL shoot his mouth off and say the wrong thing about Palin, which will come back to haunt Obama.

      McCain/Palin '08

  14.   It was dumb, stupid maybe, but I wouldn't go so far as foolish.

  15. MCCain never had my vote in the first place.  His choice of Palin is proof to me that McCain has caved into the extreme right and intends to cuddle them just as Bush did.
