Question:

Do you think that NASCAR should be banned?

I know a lot of people like it, but it is burning up so much precious gas and polluting the environment. If people are complaining about petroleum deficiencies, why is NASCAR still allowed?

  1. i think stupid ******* liberals should be shot in the face, they're eating precious food and breathing precious air.

  2. i smell a troll.

  3. for the love of racing

  4. Why are you posting your comments on line?

Don't you think you're burning fuel by having the lights on, surfing the web, watching TV, playing your video games, getting food out of a cold refrigerator, taking a bath in hot water.  Should I continue.

Every sport, burns fuel.  Driving the teams to and from the game, all the fans that attend theses events, the lights in the arenas and the list goes on and on.

Why not ask why the navy has ships 24/7 steaming around the world.  Are the wasting fuel?

Is it every time you step into a car to go somewhere it is a life and death situation that you must use fuel.

Look around, we are wasting more fuel than NASCAR ever did.

Do you even know how much fuel one of those cars use during a race with all the drafting and driving techniques that they use to save fuel?  Well do you?

  5. No I don't think it should be banned.

  6. WRONG AGAIN

  7. Hey tree hugger, don't you have a spotted owl to save? The only deficiency is in your head.

  8. because it is one of America most popular sports. Should all sports just stop because of fuel? How do players get from stadium to stadium? They fly, then go from limo/bus and fly home. That's a waste of fuel too, isn't it?

So go back to hugging your trees and think before you ask next time

  9. Uninformed morons shouldn't post. There is no petroleum deficiency, Clyde. The field that they discovered in the Artic will fuel the world for the next 3 years alone. Oil Shale reserves in the US alone amount to 1.5 billion barrels. Anywhere from 3 to 4.3 billion barrels were recently discovered in N. Dakota and Montana.

Our prices are high because all those that lost their butts want to recoup their losses and because of that gas powered butt-plug of yours. Why don't you turn it off for a while and help ease our global warming problem.

  10. If you want to ban Nascar for using too much gas; then you might as well ban city buses, taxis, and airplanes.  They use probably more gas then Nascar does.

  11. Here I go again...

    Listen you troll you.

Search the questions first, and you will find many, many, many answers to this same question.

Why not go over and ask in the baking section if non-stick pans should be banned because they use toxic chemicals.

Or start something useful, like a protest to bring our troops home from those third world a$$holes of the universe. How much of the "precious gas" and how much pollution do you think is generated by one aircraft carrier traveling from Virginia to the Mid-east?

Now go back in the cellar, school starts soon and you don't want to miss the little bus...

    EDIT: Hey Storm. HUMMANA,HUMMANA,HUMMANA>>>>>

  12. ...and all air traffic halted

  13. cuz racecars use less fuel up than normal cars.

  14. Man if this was a serious question, I would answer it. This same basic question has been on here so many times. Aaahh I'll answer anyway. They pollute less in a season than any big city in one day. The fuel they use is made just for them, it doesn't take away any from the pump at your local station.

  15. It's a great sport that provides many MANY jobs to help support the economy.

And, I am sure the EPA watches NASCAR to make sure they stay up to standards, anyway.

  16. if you haven't read Ben's answer read it , and if you have read it again

  17. The last time we banned something(prohibition) it created Nascar. What would banning Nascar create?

I live in St. Louis. It's the 13th largest city in the U.S.

Based on an average of 25 MPG, we burn 2,880,000 gallons EVERY DAY which is 120,000 gallons an hour.

Nascar uses around 300,000 gallons per year.  That means my city alone uses enough gasoline to fuel 1 full Nascar season worth of gas approximately every single 2.5 hour's of every day!....or....1 race every 4.16 minutes!...of every day!

I'm only talking about citizens in cars and trucks. This doesn't include train's, construction equipment, countless flights out of Lambert airport etc. etc. etc.

The numbers are just so miniscule to the rest of the world, it's literally 1 drop in the ocean.

As far as pollution, same thing. Auto racing is exempt from the 'Clean Air Act of 1979' for a reason.

  18. Nascar is worth it, you just aren't a fan.

Maybe we should ban something you may use like KY jelly, think of all the oil that would save.

  19. No, its  hardly using any gas, Racing is very eco friendly

    like IRL is using ethenol

  20. No but maybe Hendrick Motorsports should be.

  21. SHUT UP!

  22. NASCAR should only be banned when we can also ban stupid people whom continueily ask the same stupid questions.

  23. Seriously?   You need think a little more before you ask a question...    Perhaps France would wecome you.

  24. Apparently you do not like NAscar otherwise you wouldn't of posted such a stupid question.  No I should not be banned.

  25. No Nascar shouldn't be banned but maybe you should be from this section if you don't like it!

  26. If racing needs to be banned, then ban all racing.  That includes Indy Cars, sprint cars, boats, go carts, motorcycles, dirt bikes, etc.  While you're at it, ban cigarettes and beer because they are not good for people either.  Also shut down McDonald's because that sure isn't good for anybody.

  27. No it should not be banned.

  28. I have not seen you all environmentalists on this forum for a while.  I was thinking we were rid of you for a while.  Guess I was wrong.

Focus on the root of the problem, the government with your environmental preaching; no a twig which is Nascar.

So why don't you get back in your Toyota Hybrid Prius and drive on back to your environmental section because this question is getting 'old.'

  29. first of all they pay for the gas they can use anyway they want, dont truck drivers use up our "precious gas"? i think people forget that nascar is paying for this gas they can do whatever they want with it and if the government starts rationing out gas then they will take their ration and use it the way they want... and they arent polluting the environment, just because they are race cars doesnt mean they have a lot of pollution... ban NASCAR (which wont happen they can ask them to shorten races or start rationing gas) and the government would have to ban anyone who drives excessively (meaning all of the 18 wheelers would be banned, meaning we wouldnt get deliveries anymore)...and there are a lot more things polluting the environment like cigerettes, plastic pags, all the states that dont require smogging, littering, etc

  30. No, but I think questions like these should be banned from this section.

  31. They did one of those 'Ole to energy back in the '70's when they trimmed a few races back 50 to 100 miles or laps-Its a stupid exercise since there is more fuel burned getting to and from the track-football-basketball baseball pick em event.
