Do you think that Role Playing games are becoming worse than how they used to be in the past?

Does the improvement in graphics and game consoles effect role playing games negatively?

well i think that role playing games are putting all their effort for imporvement into the wrong places. liek the first link games and final fantasy games were the best. but role playing games these days are all about the graphics and their so cliche and horrible. they shud be working on the story lines and gameplay, and stop messing with the graphics if they have to pick one ♥

Hm, I feel that it's not necessarily the graphics, or maybe even the new additions to some RPGs, but mostly due to the fact that there are so many out there that it's losing it's charm as a genre. Hopefully, some new RPG will come out to remind developers of how they used to be, and who knows, maybe the genre will take a turn for the best. Times keep changing, and some game makers think that they ALWAYS have to h the times. I think that some RPGs, when done right, are timeless.

Yes I think so, half of them are pumped out not even finished with no plot/horrible graphics and maybe a popular character or movie name to sell them. Like some of the Crash games for awhile were pretty bad thought not really an rpg. Also a lot of companies are pumping out leet graphics but the rpgs have no story which is half the point of an rpg so I'd say they are getting worse as a whole, but there are many good ones much better then before coming out as well. I.E. Twilight Princess
