Seems they make it that way on purpose. After drinking their coffee, others seem weak. Get you hooked?

  1. Yes, it is stronger and it is on purpose.  4-5 house hold brewed cups are equal to  1 starbuck venti as far as the caffine is concerned.

  2. Being a person who has worked at starbucks yes they do make it like that on purpose. They dont actually tell you its to get you hooked, but it seems like it. Well Im addicted lol.

  3. what a joke.  do not take the person who claimed that it is done on purpose seriously. i work there too and it is NOT made strong on purpose. there is a recipe for each beverage being made so the drinks should be made the same way every time you visit. we don't stand around like drug pushers and add extra espresso to people's drinks in hopes of getting them to return. that would waste both time and money. new baristas suck at consistency so they might be the explanation for why the coffee tastes stronger than usual.  also, starbucks is notorious for roasting their beans a little darker than most coffee american drinkers are used to. the reason for this is to achieve a rich, bold flavor.  some people say it's to hide the imperfections in the beans....either way, it tastes strong because of the roast.

  4. Starbucks is stronger then any other coffee I have gotten from a coffee shop. Whether they do it on purpose or not, I'm sure they do. Try drinking something from Dunkin Donuts after having something from Starbucks. It ends up tasting like water.

  5. Yes they make it strong but you don't have to get it that way.  Like the tea is very strong and then they fill the shaker with water then ice, so technically it's a blended mix. You get more flavor that way. But you can have them mix the coffee any way you want just tell them you don't want it as strong they can suggest an alternative.

Like when I get a mocha frap I tell them a 1/2 pump of the mix, the full pump is too strong for me.

  6. I found their coffee one of the weaker ones, I had a latte from Cafe Nero and had to ask them how many shots was in it, they use 2 shots as a standard.

  7. Actually, the reason Starbucks coffee is so strong is because of the beans they use to make their coffee.  Most coffee companies use what is called Robusta beans because they are cheaper to produce.  While these beans have more caffeine than the Arabica beans that Starbucks uses exclusively, they have far less flavor.

If you've ever compared a cup of say, Folgers to a cup of Starbucks Colombian Roast, the difference in the taste is amazing, and yes, other coffees seem far weaker.

  8. Of course. That is how you get hooked. Strong sugar and caffeine.

  9. I don't like their regular coffee.  Too strong for me.

  10. Not had their coffee as i don't drink coffee, but i have had their chi tea & i do think its stronger than others. They might do that on purpose to keep the American populous addicted.
