Question:

Do you think that Usain Bolt could've broken the 9.5 second mark if it weren't for his "showboating"?

Think about it...he ran the 100-meters in a scant 9.69 seconds; imagine if he didn't slow down to look at the clock and check his hair...he could've gotten a mark that could've stood for ALL time!

If he had run the 100-meters in less than 9.5 seconds, I believe that NO ONE else could break it.

Even though people's physiques have improved over the past century, in recent years, athletic abilities have shown signs of leveling off.

Also, when do you think that a female runner will break the 10-second mark in the 100-meter run?

  1. Who knows but I hope that someone else breaks his record soon. I have nothing against him but this showboat c**p has been going on for a long time, longer than Bolt has been alive, and I'd love to see someone get their just reward for it. I would have laughed my head off if he had fallen while doing it.

  2. Yes, but now if anyone ever does beat Bolt's time, there will always be the mention that we don't KNOW how fast he could have done it. The legend will always live on. I doubt he was thinking of any of this at the time, though, he just knew the race was his and was overcome by emotion.

I don't know when, but I'm sure a female runner will someday break the 10-second mark in the 100-meter, but perhaps not in my lifetime. Half a second is quite a bit of time to shave off...
