  1. I'm assuming by the answers on this board that not many use the make a comment function.

I think it would be a great idea if yahoo sent us messages when someone left a comment on the question after it was closed.  There have been comments on my questions from 3 months ago that were quite interesting but I had never read nor got the chance to reply to.

I also think it would be great if the comment section allowed you to type more than 300 characters. 300 characters is only a couple of sentences and usually doesn't allow you to get a good point across unless you post 4 or 5 comments.

Maybe you should go to the suggestion board and suggest this to the yahoo community.

If enough people are interested in it then yahoo will take a look and consider it when improving the site.

    edit:

Yeah you, Kitana and I are on the same wave length on this one.

  2. It should be an option (like getting emails when you get an answer; you can turn it on or off).

Click Forum, top right of the screen. If enough peopl suggest it, they might implement it.

  3. she said "COMMENTS ON A QUESTION"

You can comment on a question after it's resolved.

Yes, I think that would be helpful. You randomly look at your questions months later, and you have like, 10 responses that would have been helpful at the time the question was posted, but is useless to you now.

I know what you mean. Yes Yahoo should email us when there's a comment.

Edit: We got yo back, sista girl ;)

  4. so if i do this :http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

you would want to know about it?

They would probably have to make some major and expensive changes to thier systems to do that, so it wouldn't be worth it for the minor amusement benefit gained

  5. No.  I get enough junk email.  I usually go back to my questions if I haven't given a best answer or one has not been given yet.

  6. Just bookmark the thread if it means that much to you

  7. It would be nice but I think the question "locks down" after a question is 'resolved' so that no more comments may be made. I could be wrong.

For now, I suggest bookmarking the question(s) of interest in a seperate "Favorites" folder in your browser window. I make "files" and follow up on lots of web pages that way. Then, when the interest fades or whatever is resolved, I just delete the link.

    Best wishes. :o)

  8. Once a question is closed you can no longer answer it...making it quite unnecessary for YA to inform you of something that can't happen.

  9. The bigger problem is getting questions reported on and deleted after they have been closed for five days.

    How does that happen?.

  10. Not necessarily. When another person or the same person ask the same question that has been previously asked and resolved in the past, Y/A should automatically show a pop-up screen to the person intending to ask the same resolved question thus, eliminating any conflict against members of Y/A.

  11. I always thought that to be an option?

A message to report monkeys: Yahoo has assured me that "the people who reported your question will have less influence when reporting abuse in the future." Be warned.
