Im very concerned about going back to school and finding those tempting fat foods, the alternatives like Smucker's Uncrustables PB&J on whole wheat bread seems okay since i want to reduce my calorie intake and be healthy. But what do you think?

  1. PBandJ can be very good, but Smucker's Uncrustables is not the way to do it, even if it's whole wheat bread. Those are loaded with preservatives, and are high in calories for what they are (small!). Just make your own PBandJ, it'll be bigger in size, and better nutritionally.

    What I do:

Whole wheat bread or 7grain bread (less sugar than white)

Reduced fat Skippy crunchy (the fat in nuts is the good fat, but PB is still high in fat so if you're going to eat it a lot you should think about the reduced fat kind)

Standard Grape Jelly- much better than the high sugar ones in the kids Uncrustables!

  2. Be careful. Peanut butter is full of fat and jelly can be high in sugar.

  3. its good if you do intense workouts or running but its not bad it has healthy fat your body can use for energy

  4. Sure, just make sure you are eating it on whole grain bread, the peanut butter is a natural brand(doesn't have a lot of added salt, and very little hydrogenated oil, these peanut butters tend to be the ones you have to stir up every time you use it), and the jelly, jam, or preserves are only made out of fruit with no added sweeteners like high fructose corn syrup.  As a matter of fact, make sure most of what you eat doesn't have high fructose corn syrup in it.

  5. the worst part of a PB and J sandwich is the bread.  The best part is the peanut butter because it's natural.  Jelly sometimes has a lot of sugar

  6. It better be!

I Have several a couple times a week!
