I know some people who lived in the UK and everyone tells me crime in the UK is worse... incompetent police, rapes, vandalism, etc. Maybe UK starts seem so good because nobody gives a care in your country

  1. Considering you have an astronomical murder & crime rate... NO !

  2. No. It is not the justice system which gives rise to crime. The justice system is designed to deal with the commission of crime. Hooligans and gangs are the result of many different factors coming together - poverty, lack of hope, peer pressure, development of ghettoes, etc.

The UK criminal justice system has developed over the centuries. I know I sound like an advert for it, but it is admired around the world. We even provide state funding, legal aid, so that everyone has a level playing field to reduce the risk of the innocent being wrongly convicted.

The danger with many of these things is that it is down to interpretation of statistics, which can be made to say just about anything. These people are punished appropriately when caught and convicted. Perhaps the problem is in catching these people and/or in protecting those who are prepared to stand up against them - hence the hasty approval by Parliament of the Witness Anonymity Act.

    Hope that helps

  3. No. It hasnt done much for America - u still have them and gun crime - never a month goes by in America that someone doesnt go on a shooting rampage!

  4. Actually the US legal system is based on the English (as opposed to Scottish)  Common Law System. The problem is not the police and the Courts who are symied by the government at every turn. If they cut te paper work by about 10% we might actually find thatthe police had time to do the job we pay them to do. Targets are OK just as long as they are used as a guide and not the pupose of policing as they are now. The stupidity of the target system here is one speeding ticket (10 minutes) is on the target system equal to one murder (many days) tHIS SHOULD GIVE AN INDICATION OF HOW COUNTERPRODUCTIVE THE SYSTEM IS ( sorry preessed the wrong key didn't mmean to shout)

  5. No, America has gangs and hooligans that they also cannot get rid of, look at their prisons, they too are full! Bring back capital punishment!

  6. heavens no, if you mean UK, more hooligans and gangs in US than there will ever be here. and more people in prison in US than ever will be here. Doesn't say much for the US justice system does it.

look at the stats by the way, many indeed the consensus seems to be that they are poor, black and ill educated.

  7. America's Justice System is the root of all the hooligan's and gangs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How long have you been studying American History? yikes take a government class or something, please.

  8. I am from the states.  Our justice system is very flawed.   Kids get severely punished for minor offences and drunk drivers get way too  many second chances.   Sometime it is who you know that determines your fate if you have committed a crime.   They provide cable television in prison, yet they are shutting down homeless shelters.

To improve crime in any country.........the children must be educated in a non threatening atmosphere.   Where each child is encouraged to try and not worry about failure.   To explore their unique gifts.   And of course,  strengthening the family unit, even if it is an orphanage!   Where kids can know they are loved  and encouraged to do their best.

That is the only way to get rid of hooligans and gangs regardless of what country  you live in.  It is getting out of control and will be harder to deal with if not stopped soon.

  9. Yes, any alternative would seem to be an option. Zero tolerance is required, more prisons, harsher sentences, hard labour, no luxuries and no remission. In the cases where a life sentence has been given, then it's life I.E (for those who need some help) until the criminal dies.

  10. America's justice system hasn't rid America of hooligans and gangs. Why would it work anywhere else?

  11. As long as there are humans there will be gangs and hooligans. No time and place has ever been without them.

  12. No, it's more of a cultural thing than what laws we have.

We have a strict law system, it's just not enforced properly.
