Haven't we voted for other men in the past who obviously weren't Black, but we felt they had our interests in mind?

  1. No, not all.  Just like not all women would have voted for Clinton and just like many women won't vote for McCain because of Palin.  No, not all.  However, having said this, I do believe that more people of color and even more women will vote who have not voted before.  I mean, why not...why can't we be excited and proud that history is about to change.  I'm a white woman and I'm excited.  I would have been just as excited if Clinton had won the nomination and not just because she is female, but that would have been part of it.  I can't imagine how anyone who has had to deal with discrimination and/or sexism for so long would not be excited about this kind of historical change. It's about time.  I believe in my heart that Obama will make a great president just as I believe that Clinton would have as well.  I don't believe this  because one is black or the other female, I believe it because they both strong, intelligent, and have the right ideas and plans for our country.

    It's an exciting time...enjoy it.

  2. No.  I think a bunch of wicked women are voting for him because they know they can manipulate him.

  3. It would be really ignorant to assume every black person is voting for Obama because he had a black father.  BUT there are some who are doing just that.  I've heard people say they want to be part of history, can brag about voting for the 1st black president, and feel it's "about time".  Those people either haven't voted before or have voted for the lesser of 2 evils, just like many are doing this election.

  4. No, not all people of color are voting for Obama, I watch c-span Washington journal every A.M. They have phone in, and like every body else some call in favor of and against.

    .

  5. I don't think that "all Black people" is a real number. I find that Americans of all shapes, sizes and colors enjoy disagreeing with each other. I think we will find out what is what in two months.

  6. I think your statement the "ALL" black people is incorrect.  I know plenty of black republicans that won't vote for Obama and plenty of ignorant African American People who simply refuse to vote because they believe their vote isn't important and doesn't count....and who told them that....some stupid a$$ white man.  I have listened to both men, Obama has the "heart" of this country on his mind while McCain has the "heart" of the wealthy on his mind.  Obama is worried about the war and the average working man while McCain is worried about taxes for corporations and "oil" just as his "oil" predecessor GWB.  I don't think this one is a color issue, if it's a COLLAR issue it's a blue collar working class issue versus the white collar working class issue.

    Peace & Love  :)

  7. This isn't a direct answer to your question, my friend, but I DO believe that a lot more black people will vote in the upcoming election than ever before. Many of whom have never voted at all. Just my opinion. All we can do is pray for the best!

*Please don't misunderstand me, there are plenty of people from all races that have never bothered to vote.

  8. i do think all the negroes will vote for him

  9. I actually do believe that black people are voting for Obama because they are black.  If Hilery was still running I feel she would get the woman voters. She would have had mine.

  10. I would hope y'all had a really good reason to vote for someone, not based on his/her skin color.  I think Obama has only his own interests at heart, he doesn't really care about you or me.

  11. I think the odds are in his favor for the black voters. But, what they need to realize is he will not benefit them as much as they think.

0% on home sales up to $500,000 per home (couples). McCain does not propose any change in existing home sales income tax.

    OBAMA

28% on profit from ALL home sales.  (How does this affect you? If you sell your home and make a profit, you will pay 28% of your gain on taxes. If you are heading toward retirement and would like to down-size your home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you make from your home will go to taxes. This proposal will adversely affect the elderly who are counting on the income from their homes as part of their retirement income.)

    OBAMA

39.6% - (How will this affect you? If you have any money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds, college funds, life insurance, retirement accounts, or anything that pays or reinvests dividends, you will now be paying nearly 40% of the money earned on taxes if Obama becomes president. The experts predict that 'Higher tax rates on dividends and capital gains would crash the stock market, yet do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.')

Many families have lost businesses, farms, ranches, and homes that have been in their families for generations because they could not afford the inheritance tax. Those willing their assets to loved ones will only lose them to these taxes.

    NEW TAXES PROPOSED BY OBAMA

  12. Well it's human nature to vote for those you can relate to in some way.  That is not to say that I think all blacks will vote for him because he is black, that by far is not the case.  Though I think there will be a great incidence of this.  Though nothing has to do with color except for one and that is green (money) and when the world actually comes together to see that green is the only color that really matters in discrimination then little things like voting on two ridiculously rich men to run a country will not waste peoples time anymore and the country will actually gain some respectable leaders.

  13. As long as we as Americans keep "race" in any issues and base our opinion solely because of it, we are no better then a KKK who base their theory of pride on race only!

It's time that this country put on the blinders and look at the person and not the color and base your vote on that.

If we don't want others to base personal opinions on us because of color, lets stop basing our opinions on them because of theirs.

  14. Not all but many. He's looking out for all, its that simple. Vote Obama in November and you'll see a better future for all, not few.

  15. The majority of black people were raised under the assumption that they all have to support other black people no matter what.  That's exactly what's going on here.  Barry Hussein Obama hasn't said anything of substance other than he'll raise taxes out the wazooooo, but he's got the support of virtually every black person in the US.

It's a herd mentality.  And many also feel like "white men don't care" and feel like white people are the enemy and a threat.  Irregardless of stance, politics, age, experience etc, support the person they most look like.

  16. more Black people WILL vote because of obama....and i guarantee that there will be a significant group off blacks who vote obama just because he is black

  17. All Black people? no

Some people of any color voting for Barack because of his color - yes.

Let me add that I do think that is a valid reason for voting. Racism is very much alive in this modern world (as evidenced by some of the answers to this question). Having Barack as president would bring these conversations about diversity, respect and our common humanity into families and communities and I think that would be a good thing.

  18. No i do not think that at all ,,,,,,,,lets face it black people have been voting for white people since voting been in effect, however this time they have the option to vote for a man of color i think that's awesome

i think the same amount % wise of the black people will vote for him

for one reason alone,,,,he is Black,,,,,,,,that % bears out the same

when JFK was running the Irish voted in droves for him,,,,,,,,because he was the better man ? No because he was of Irish heritage and u had a double header there he was Roman  Catholic

unlike his brother teddy the Sunday a.m. Catholic

  19. To me he has already shown color is not  a significant issue because he won the nomination. One should also remember he is Afro-American raised by white grandparents and brought into this world by opposite races. By definition he is not black, by perception he is.

We have two excellent candidates and both are worthy of becoming president. The winner will be the one that this country believes will bring us out of our economic quagmire... and you can jump up and down and scream as loud as you want... but bottom line is no one knows until the vote is counted. Remember George Bush got reelected (duh)... it's anybody's ballgame right now.

Some people will always vote on non-issues; but their numbers will be insignificant in this race. Too much is at stake.

  20. I won't vote for him because he is black and I think that most black people will vote for him because he is black. But so what most black people don't even vote and most are convicted felony's so they can't vote anyways. Better for the white people.

  21. Legislative Process 101: people who are not that into politics [doesn't follow the leaders, the policies and so on] will vote for someone they can relate to. If you are black but do not follow politics with a close eye, the chances of you voting fo Obama is VERY high. A lot of women who did not follow politics voted for Hillary. Why? Because they can relate to her. And like it or not it is about race, because people keep on refering to him as the first "black" candidate for President, sadly they are forgeting that he's not black but mixed!

  22. I sure hope they don't. That would be racist, wouldn't it?

  23. When worse gets worser we can always vote for Ralph

    Nader.

  24. No, I wouldn't give a rats booty if he was green with pink polk a dots! I'm voting for Obama because I feel he actually cares about the trying to better the economy. I'm tired of seeing foreclosures and folks losing jobs left and right. McCain and his supports don't connect with us regular folks issues so that is why he thinks middle class people make 5 million dollars a year or more. If McCain gets elected, it will really be about the have and the have nots. There will be no more middle class and that effects me.

  25. No, I don't think so.

  26. He lost the black vote because he offered every able bodied citizen a job!  Whoooo weee diggy-die-doe!!
