Georgia dear the United States was already fully engaged in WWII even if only unofficially, (The AVG, the Atlantic Patrol, Lend Lease, etc).  Our leaders fully recognized the perils of the n***s and were working hard to ensure that they didn't win.  It is my belief that we would have entered the war eventually even if it hadn't been for Pearl Harbor but then it might have only been a one ocean war.  Good luck to you.

Yes. The German Navy wanted to go to war with the US.  In fact, Germany declared war on the US before the US declared war on Germany.

The American public, and most of Congress, wanted to stay out of the war, but the US involvement was inevitable.

Hitler dimissed the US as a "mongrel nation" and a "weak nation with a big mouth". The Germans believed that with a freer range of action, their U-boats could have enough success against the Allied shipping to starve Britian into submission. Once Britian was eliminated, the US would be forced to sign a peace treaty with Germany because it would have no forward bases in Europe to use.

Yes, but not necessarily against Japan.  Germany was sinking our military and civilian ships and had broke all treaties with us.  We had already made the decision to take on Germany.  All it needed was the final vote.  Japan's actions sealed the deal.
