  1. I've not seen the movie, but I am aware of the Magdalene Laundries as told of in the song by Joni Mitchell.  NO WAY did they "deserve" their plight. I thought that was just as much of a scandal of the Church as the priests abusing young children.

  3. none of them did. No one deserves to be treated as less than human, especially not when they are singled out because of their s*x.

    the woman who was raped by her cousin should not have been punished, her cousin should have.

    the woman who had a child out of wedlock should not have been punished, and why wasnt the father of her child chastised or given any responsibility?

    and the other girl, bernadette...she was out there because of SMILING at boys!

    the magdalene laundries were a human rights violation.
