Do you think that boundary and goal umpires should be given more powers?

nothing like in the NAB cup where they could pay any free kick; but I mean for deliberate out of bounds (for boundary umpires) and the goal umpire patroling the goal square on kick outs.

I just want to see what you guys think because when I do some boundary umpiring, I see a lot of deliberate out of bounds when the field umpire doesnt....and trhen the players look at me for answers...

Do you think that giving boundary and goal umpires that extra power will make the game 'better'....I think it would be great as it's one (or two) less thing for the field umpire.

No Way known,  they already have the power to report, every thing is against the player, the game is so bloody over umpired it is a joke,   if younger people could see how the game used to be umpired they would understand what i mean,  a hand around a jumper, 30 meters out from goal  is a free to a forward, same thing on a wing, in the centre etc is play on, as i said, no, there are too many little Hitlers out there already.

Geez I remember when we only had one umpire and even though we heckled him, rarely did he get it wrong!

Now that we have a few of them they get it wrong more than ever.

h**l no, don't give them more power; I hate to think of what the outcome might be!!!

I still say that todays umpires are not there to officiate, but to influence who wins!

The umpires already have enough influence over our game, and if you gave them more power, more and more results of games would be altered based solely on umpiring desicions.

I asked a question about the deliberate out of bounds a while ago. Most of the responses were they can't even get their own job right. I think both the field umpire and boundary umpire should be able to award a free kick for deliberate, as sometimes the boundary umpire may be in the wrong position.

The goal umpire patrolling the square in kick outs is a great one I'd like to see.

what, like xmen kinda powers? x-ray vision, telekenesis, healing self, shapeshifter? Is that the kinda powers you're talking about? What do you expect them to do? I'm there to watch the football, not the umpires.
