If you knew your history and did your research, you would find that the attacks on 9/11 were carefully planned out by Bin Laden's terrorist networks over a period of several years.  Give up the conspiracy talk.

There are too many strange circumstances surrounding that day for me to say that the event was a simple surprise attack by terrorists.  Conspiracy theorists think that the whole thing was staged and carried out by the U.S. government.  That's going a little too far for me, because I think such an act of treason against your own people is far too dangerous and difficult to keep secret.  I don't know what happened for sure on that day (only the Bush administration really knows), but I wouldn't be surprised if the government knew that something was going to happen, but didn't take steps to prevent it.  I doubt that they would have been able to push any of their homeland security (ie: freedom challenging) bills through without a physical attack by an outside force.  Maybe they had to let it happen to force the the Amercian people to surrender some of their freedoms.

I know people who think it was an inside job.  I just find it too hard to believe that the government could perpetrate such a huge act of treason and get away with it.
