I mean, they could be born to a family who just wants to be here for jobs and welfare. They may hate America and all they want is my Uncle's money.

  1. YES.

They may hate the country and just want uncle sams money, but tell me how many people born here from 2 citizen parents hate this country and just want Uncle Sam's money as well.

  2. Yes thats the way it works all over the world.

  3. ONLY if at least one parent is a legal citizen.

  4. ho boy I must say I had a good giggle at some of the answers. Using Europe as an example of modern society and a role model for America is almost blasphemous on the 4th of July weekend. However as was pointed out elsewhere it would take reconstruction of our Constitution. Where would we stop once that was removed? Would the vote for minorities and women be next if so sought? We can not start changing our foundations to suit some disgruntled people on a whim. Careful consideration of objectives needs to be given when making policies. So ultimately my answer is yes as has been our policy.

  5. No, it's an outdated notion of citizenship that most modern countries have already done away with.  In our modern society where you can get on a plane and be on the other side of the world in a matter of hours, it no longer makes sense. It's time we  brought our notion of citizenship into the 21st century and followed Europe's lead on this one.  It makes more sense.

  6. ONLY if at least one parent is a legal citizen

  7. absolutley not, just because a kid pops out of its mom while she is in another country should not make that kid a citizen, and it is disguisting to me that parents use their children to get around immigration laws....its completely sick that people who want to be here so badly show so little respect for us and our laws, if u don't want to follow our rules get the F**k out...i am all for immigration if it is legal....

  8. Heck no. It has become such a huge problem. The illegals take advantage of this and therefore continue to procreate in massive numbers. BTw to the one giving a history lesson, the Constitution has been amended several times, so it isnt that far fetched to recommend it. It totally can be done. Why should we continue to let non citizens interpret OUR constitution in a way that they find suitable for themselves, totally disregarding our country. We the people of the United STATES is how our preamble to our constitution starts. Remember?

  9. It is a little strange that technically 2 criminals who have no right to be in the U.S. can have a child that is a citizen of that nation.  It also gives people other excuses to become law breakers and illegal immigrate.

  10. no -- for those who cross the rio river just to pop that kid out for a free ticket out of mex, no!

Yes --  for those that came hear LEGALLY!!!

  11. Not in this day and age, when there are too d**n many of them creating anchor babies.  Our country is becoming overloaded.

  12. No, they should not receive citizenship. They also should not be allowed to collect all the freebies that their parents do.

  13. Children born to citizens, yes to citizenship.

Children born to legal immigrants, yes to citizenship.

Children born to illegal aliens, no.

  14. NO

    Ever heard of anchor babies?

    Depends who your parents are...

  15. I live in Phoenix.

They roll Mexican babies out like candy!

They have kids like I take a pee!

That is there plan to take over our country.

Plus, I get to pay for it, no insurance.

Quote The Mexico President,"Where there is a Mexican, it is Mexico!"

  16. No, it should not be automatic.

  17. Yes. To change it is to alter the ideas our country was founded on.

Blame the government for making it so easy to take advantage of our kindness and generosity.

MacCrew: actually, the government was set up to differentiate between church and state. The founding fathers didn't want its government to be controlled by a religious body, much like popes had for hundreds of years- it also allowed for freedom of religion.

The clause "under God" was actually added in the 50s to create a distinction between ourselves and the "Commies."

Next time you think you're calling someone out, read up.

  18. No.. That is the basis of the whole anchor baby debate.. And to "Just a lowly conservative"... Seems the founding basics of our country can be changed whenever convenient, after all America was supposed to be one nation under GOD, but people pretty much did away with that, too..

EDIT: "Just a Conservative" if that's what you refer to as being "called out" I'd have to suggest you have some issues... and I read your link and all it did was prove my point that basic fundamentals can be changed by acts of government at the drop of a hat. Thanks for making my point....

  19. Yes, you can't help where you're born, and your old country may not want or accept you back.  You can't punish kids for what their parents do.  Remember the whole "all men are created equal" thing?  How can you treat two people differently right upon their creation (birth)?
