that way, you think that how sad it would be if they really did part and then they came back just so that you can enjoy them because you wanted them to come back so badly.

But....I do. (if im understanding correctly)

such as "loving them as if they were already gone"

because we all know...you never know what ya got till its gone.

so yes, I think if we all thought that way
