  1. No.  Fresh is always better.

Vegetable soup is not that hard to make.  So I'll make my own from fresh vegetables.

  2. nope not at all. high sodium and fat content

  3. Traditional brands not so healthy because of sodium and additives. There are organic, all natural brands out there. Just read the labels in the store. Fewer ingredients that you really know what they are the better. And watch for vegetable soup that's not vegetarian if that's what you'r aiming for.

  4. relative to fast food yes.  Actually, relative to a lot of junk food and fast food.  It's a pretty good meal.  The problem is that most people have unhealthier food to go with their canned veggie soup.

  5. Not really. It tends to have very high sodium so I generally avoid it.

  6. yes...

The high salt content in soup is not regular table salt or sea salt. It's MSG (mono-sodium glutamate). A very, very bad sodium. (This they don't tell you on the news, they just say it's salt when it's not). Check the labels. 95% of all canned soups are MSG.

MSG is a highly addictive chemical and dulls your hunger sensors, thus making you eat "more". It is also responsible for a wide range of diseases which include neurodegenerative brain diseases such as Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, ALS, and Alzheimer's disease.

There is plenty of MSG info online. Learn about what you are putting in your body. It could save lives. I left a link for further reading.

I found one brand of soup that doesn't have it, Healthy Choice. So we do have options. Good luck quitting MSG and warn others about it's dangers.

  7. better than McDonald's
