  1. What age group?

I do believe it is an important topic to discuss, have facts and information that students can actually use, like who to call or how to report it.

Be specific, site examples, local and national, so they have a perspective to judge from.

Cover all forms of abuse and how they can help friends and peers.

  2. I actually did a report about this when I was in college.  Many people in my class were already teachers yet they were unaware that by law they were mandated reporters.  It was an eyeopener for many.  You can find a great deal of information on your topic... for example, the difference between child abuse and child neglect.  I would recommend you call the Department of Children and Family Services in your area... ask them what cases they see the most... what will get a child removed from the home... ask about their caseload and you'll probably be surprised.

You might find some ideas also on alternativeeducationbible.com

  3. I don't see why not. It is definitely something that should be discussed.

  4. I did my honors English Research paper on Corporal Punishment (spanking/physical punishment) and the effect it has on the individual...pros and cons.  Mainly my paper was against it though.  Just my findings of course.  Many students were interested in my research.  Good luck

  5. I think it depends on the age group.  Also, the teacher would need to be prepared (and prepare the class) for personal stories and opinions that might come up and how they should be handled.
