  1. Hi, I'm 13 (a teenager but still child at heart).

Programmes for babies and growing toddlers are the most educational to children I think...

Mr. McSmirth = why stealing is wrong

Mr. Happy = Why it's important to smile

Story Makers = Make reading fun ^^

    That sorta thing ;]

  2. My daughter has been watching tv since she was about 18 months, she never sat there for ages though and would only watch certain shows. It helped with her speech I think as she would sing along to the song but I guess you could put a kids cd on and do the same.

My daughter is now 4 and she enjoys watching about 4 programmes a day, some teach her about sharing etc and others are just funny stories.

I think it depends on their age and what they understand, not too keen on parents using tv as babysitters though.

  3. yes :) big cook little cook teaches young children how to cook healthy and tasty food :) I love it, and I'm 15. It also teaches you where all the ingrediants come from.

  4. Yes, it is educational as long as it's PBS. My son is only 2 and he counts to ten in Spanish, 20 in English, and knows more words in Spanish than I did when I graduated high school.  And he knows the entire alphabet. If they're watching some c**p like Nickelodeon all day, then no, it's probably not good for them. You need to be choosy about what you let them watch, and watch it with them so you can discuss it and help them learn things.

  5. Television is NEVER educational.  In fact it stunts children's progress.  Your child will learn so much more playing in the garden, with friends or just being!  TV rots the brain and sets children up to be addicts for the rest of their lives...

  6. Every doctor says don't let them watch any TV. Well how do you entertain a two year old all day long. My son was only one and could not say anything else besides mommy and daddy. I started letting him watch some programs like wonder pets and dora and he started talking. I am not saying let them sit in front of the TV all day but it does in my opinion help them learn new laguage skills.
