Do you think that doing volunteer work is a great way to boost your self esteem?

i thought about joining a club called Circle K at my college to meet some nice people, give back to the community, and boost my self worth as well. I wouldn't mind meeting guys as well!!

That's a good idea. My cousin met her future husband in the sierra club. All these yrs later they are happy vegetarians, doing their best to save the planet together. Nothing wrong with that!

As for self worth, your worth plenty. Giving of yourself is the greatest gift to give.

Of course it will boost your self esteem, but that is not the reason you do charity work.  Charity is not a social hour where you can meet some hot guy to have a passionate romance with.  I think your head is in the right place but there is an element of using charity for your own personal benefit that needs to change.

Yes, most definately...but ONLY if it turns out to be something you're really interested in.  If you're doing it only to boost your self esteem it won't work unless you have a genuine yearning to help out with that specifically.  But I sure feel warm and fuzzy when I volunteer- go for it!

Charitable work should be "selfless" not self centered.  Perform the charity because you want to make someone else feel better.  When what you do for someone for an unselfish reason...the reaction from the other person automatically makes you feel great.  

Don't do any charity thing to "boost your self esteem", do it to boost the moral and personal aptitudes of the other person.  That is what charity is all about...being selfless.
