How long are we going to be able to pay the high prices of gas? It's highway robbery!

  1. Since some bikes are worth more than our cars that would not be a bad idea.

But no, I think it took us a couple hundred years to build an infrastructure based on wiiiiiide open spaces and then the car. Where Europe has had public transportation for a long time. Ever traveled in Europe? You truly don't need a car to get around.

It will take a while but we'll get there, better infrastucture so if you don't have a car or just don't want to drive you can get anywhere quickly.

Unfortunately it will take time .... meanwhile, link your trips and errands, carpool, walk and bike, order stuff online and yes ... move closer to the center of town so you can get around.

  2. and old people

we will have to get tricycles  *G*

  3. I have a bad back and can't ride a bike for long.  I have a lot of elderly friends that also can't ride bike's.  Many young people have babies and toddler's and also can't ride bikes.

I suggest we all go to electric golf carts.

  4. you're right, it's ridiculous!!!

  5. That Would be Great...!!

Then, 'Mother Nature' could begin repairing the Damage We have done to the environment...!!

  6. >>  Do you think that eventually we all will be riding bicycles except for rich people?

No.  I visited many poor nations.  Many young people ride motorcycles.  But most family people drive a car, as it is still more gas efficient (for more than 2 person).

    good Luck...

  7. More people should ride, heck I ride when its -30 below zero.

  8. No, I think we will have trains and subways and buses instead.

  9. It's more then that. It's total devastation to a lot of folks that don't have very much of an income. Thank god I have a lot of land to walk around on and it's gorgeous. People need to learn to buckle down and stay home more. LMAO

  10. That might not be a bad thing. We would probably live a lot longer then.

  11. No, people will continue using gas and continue polluting the air until they see the affects of gloal warming caused by it. Then it will be too late to stop driving, and the fate of humanity will be sealed. I think its already sealed though, thank you Exxon Mobil, profit maximization means nothing if there is no inhabitable Earth to benefit from increased profits. Money is meaningless, survival of the human spcis should be above all, even if the government has to step in and close down exxon mobile for good, and hand away hydrogen powered cars, or convert cars for free.  Prices will to be high  as long as the government allows corporations run this country, corporations will always look to make as much profit as they can, at the expense of every living person.

  12. OMG I sure hope not. I ride bike for pleasure and exercise but I sure don't want to peddle all the way to work.  My body couldn't take it !! Someone would have to do CPR on me..

  13. no. we will invent some thing else.gas is cheaper than europe

  14. Most experts advise that our over reliance on the automobile will soon be ramping down.

Better public transportation is on the way for longer urban trips, and many people will choose to use moped, motorcycles, electric assist bicycles and regular bikes  for some trips rather than a car.

many of these devices  are not only cheaper to operate, but are also more fun.

No, not everyone will be riding a bicycle, but the ones that went to the gym anyway wil probably choose a bike for short errands.
