i think some of you have missed my point. the ref tells the fighters to touch gloves at the beginning of a fight. in my opinion that's enough. nowadays you see fighters touch gloves after every round and slap each others behinds.

I want to see a fight between rivals not friends. I want to see two opponents in the ring that want to take each others heads off.

thats what I liked about Tyson. I want to see two fighters in the ring that want to eat each others children.

  1. Nothing wrong with respect that is earned.

  2. A lot of the disrespect stuff is just hype to sell tickets. Training for boxing is one of the hardest things on Earth, so it would be hard for one boxer not to respect another on that level alone.

  3. in case you are forgetting boxing is a very controlled game and if theres no respect then what about child boxers they start boxing to learn respect and self control this is totaly the wrong idea of the game as a 13 year old boxer i have alot of respect for my apponents and i have been tipped for top i punch  at 87mph and i wouldnt just hit someone in the street if they didnt give me respect i could seriously injure someone!! so respect is one of the most important things in boxing

  4. you should always show respect as thats what it is all about.

  5. I'm not sure about eating children, i'm now a quiet loving family guy and i look like him to(lol), but when i used to fight whether i was boxing or kick boxing my intentions were to punish them in every way possible, i just wanted to smash their ribs and break their jaw, in the ring i hated them and they had nowhere to run but out of the ring iv all was been a caring type, but nower day theres to many boxers with big mouths, big egos, big promotions, big money, big hype and little fights, no one wants to fight good fighters any more and when they do the fight is spoiled by as you say to much respect, they should just shut up get in the ring and back their mouths up,  i know what you mean its annoying in it they say its the pain game and were not here to make out, but, some times it looks like their making out and not dishing out pain i know im going on a bit so ill get to the point YES

  6. If it weren't for the respect then the fights would be out of control and it would be like a mad street fight. I'm not saying that they take it easy on each other but there wouldn't be so much rivalry after or before even. Look at Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis before there fight and then look at them after the fight......
