Do you think that global warming in hurting the planet?

As much as the news says it is, if that's true? And why aren't the Stars & rock Stars putting on events that will help to do research on how to make a better and more economic form of entergy so America & and the rest of the Planet will be safe? Without people to spend so much to see a Rock concert is so over priced the Fans wont be able to afford to go to any shows or pay to go to the movies. After all we are all on this planet and if they rich & greedy, that's hurting it, then its Bye,Bye for us all! Rich & Poor!

I believe that it is true.

Even if people might use to their advantage the position Earth is now in, I still believe that it is true. The effects of Global Warming  are mostly felt in the tropical countries as of now, but I believe it would only be a matter of time before it would be affecting the other countries gravely.

Fifty years ago, storms here in the Philippines would never reach up to 90kph. If it does, many people would have been in their knees, praying.. but now? Our storms reach up to 140 to 190 kph! Not only that, but summer time is much more hotter than the previous years... from 29 C to 38 C, sometimes even reaching 41 C! Also, the arrival of seasons comes in late. Before, the cold breeze of 'winter' would come in early-November, but now it comes in late-January.

We should be aware of what's happening around us. Surely, scientists have made wrong predictions in the past, but that doesn't mean that all they say are false.

Do you think we need celebrities to tell us that we're ruining the planet?  The time to do something about this is NOW.  We've done the research, we should all be aware of the problem and we all, each and every one, owe it to ourselves, future generations and all life forms, to start consuming less junk (processed) and walking/biking instead of driving.  We in developed countries are particularly at fault for buying into consumer culture and thinking we need so much when in fact we do not.

Maybe this is just the cynic in me talking, but didn't society start pushing going green right around the time the recession began setting in?  Think about it, all of these companies that are selling green products are now making a fortune off of them.  Could this be a ploy to counteract the recession?  Maybe.  It also seems to me that there have been ice ages and other periods of natural destruction here on Earth.  Could this be another one and we just think it is all of out faults?  Global warming seems to have been very popularized right at the time when it was convenient for the government and big businesses.

Since you asked...

My opinion is....that like almost everything else...the earth has cycles....and the warming..of the earth...is due to a cycle....not George W. Bush...(hee hee...can you believe people think this?)

I am all for "Going Green"....I have long felt that we were hurting our planet by our unwise practices....but I do not believe that we have reached the point where our actions have caused this situation....

We must live "One Day @ a Time"....and treat man and the earth with respect...if we can do this....then our days may (I did say may) ...be long and peaceful.

Well, where do I begin? First of all, I am not saying that the 2012 event is a load of rubbish but the mayans do have an inaccurate calander.

2. Why do we need rockstars? Money won't help now (though it will help in me getting some ice-cream at this moment :p )

People are trying to think of ways to reduce energy consumption of really energy and the energy of cars(gasoline).

LOOK CLOSLY!!!!! IT'S ALL AROUND YOU!!!! I live in Canada but I had seen so many advertisments of how to stop polluting the planet. Then there are cars comming out that are smaller and more efficent. There is a whole industry growing (it's still growing) for products to be "green". So many things have been done! Yes, the money will fund the reaserch (from the "rock starts" ) but that really won't be needed (though I need it for the ice cream :p ).

I am not really sure whether or not it has any relation to this but have you noticed the major increase in natural disastors? So many earthquakes, tsunamis,typhoons and the weather had increased in strength. Not to mention that seasons are arriving at little to late or early. Its funy to endure actually. I remember this clearly. One day I was raking leaves and hadn't finished the job. When I wake up the next day. I didn't see any leaves but snow in it's place! EVERYTHING WAS COVERED IN SNOW!!!! The week after, everything had melted and everyone contined to rake leaves as if it was fall. And it was!With one week of winter! That can't possibly be good!

Another comment: People barely learn. Is it worth it for those who did? I don't know but in those events: there are plastic bottles lying everywhere (especially in the garbage and not recycling!!!)- a huge consumption of energy with barely any lessons to learn! May I remind you that there are MANY MANY more negative effects of what we are doing. Mostly health degrading. So.....sooooooooooooooooo many kids have asthma these days (in america). Then there is obeseity. Then there is our beloved wifi. Oh how about all those gasess used to transport cellphone signals? Microwaves...oh that reminds me...there are MANY things that give out waves that slowly degrade our health. Oh!How about food? Did you know that oranges have colour added to them to make them look more orange.......I will stop there...I don't want continue......I think I made my point that this world is a mess but after all that I said- a list of 100000 things can be made of all the faults of mankind

Did any one take the honest time to deliberate the existence of so many civilizations ,that existed then vanished .I am on the path of enlightenment for you.

The tribes or civilizations that built the very things that we are amazed at ,then vanished in to the oblivion .Only traces of the survivors are remaining to create the life over .The tales of the Atlantis,the pyramids of Egypt Mayan,Aztec.The American Indian ground work's.Tibetan ,Cambodian Temple's left to the jungles.In a thousand years most of these sites have vanished without knowledge of existence.

   We are closer than anyone thinks to a devastation of our own inheritance of reckoning with the planet.

  Why do scientists think they can predict what's on the horizon of creation.They can only grasp what was left by former societies.Dec.21 2012 we will be in the pie ,it has already started .
