Do you think that horoscope signs should be compatible in a relationship for it to work?

If two people don't have zodiac signs that compliment each other, they might not last together as a couple. Is that true or false? Or do you have a different opinion? I'm curious.

  1. Thats an excellent question.First lets start with the definintion of horoscope. The word is greek which roughly means "hour marker".So as far as the SUN sign goes no.Their would have to be many many other factors involved.Astrology is the study of the sun/moon and the planets as they relate to us here on earth. Each planet represents a different function. The sun is our individuality and our authority. It show our creative expression and shows where we want to shine.Mars shows the way we assert our selves, our sexual drive, and it shows our aggression. The planets are the actors and the signs are the costumes.Mars in aries will assert itself in a explosive way, aggressive way.But if mars was in gemini it would rely more on wit and words to win the argument rather than raw power.

Their are 360 degrees to the ecliptic and so their are 360 to the birth chart. The birth chart is a 2d map of the ecliptic as its seen here on earth. The birth chart is divided into 12 equal parts with each of the 12 signs on the border of those parts. These parts are called houses. Its been proven over thousands of years that each of those wedges (houses) show an area of our life where the planet is most easily expressed. Mars in the 2d house of resources and money shows someone who is an impulsive buyer. All of the 360 degrees are divided in to angles but the most important are the ascendant-descendant axis and the mid heaven nadir axis.Decribing these are abit lengthy but Im going to give you some resources at the end.And finally the last part of the basics are the aspects. The aspects are angles between the planets that shows how comfortably the planets get along. Also if two or more planets are aspected than they meld their energies in the way tht they express themselves.

  2. Of course they might not last together as a couple or they just might. As well as people that have zodiac signs that work well together, might work or might nit.

If your signs don't go well with each other it jsut means that your relationship will need a little more work then you might want to put into it, But as in any relationship communication, understanding and compromising is a key.

Where there is a will there is a way

  4. Yes and no. Sometimes you can't help who you love and fall for a person that supposedly doesnt complement you well. My parents are a great example. My mother is an Aries and my father is a Pisces. For these signs not to complement each other, there sure are a lot of them out there. Also, my sign is in Cancer and they say my best match is Scorpio or Pisces. Well, I 've been in a relationship with both, and they were disastrous. It just depends on the person, signs should be saved for when you already know them well. Good luck!

  5. I would have to say false.

All compatibility tells you is how easy or hard a relationship could be. Some may have to work harder at understanding each other and the way they think/feel/communicate.

Plus it's more than just one sign. You never want to look at a couple's Sun signs and try to determine whether the relationship will last. More important to compare are the couple's Moon signs and the Venus signs and the Mercury signs.

Astrology DOES NOT tell you who you can and cannot be with, it just offers a way to understand others and where they are coming from. My Sun sign is Taurus and my boyfriends Sun sign is Sagittarius. This is one of the least compatible matches yet we have been together for 5 years. Knowing his whole birth chart has helped me to understand him so much better and we get along easier sometimes.

When a lot of the aspects of two people's charts are very difficult, there has to obviously be more work, effort, understanding, and compassion to make it work together and it seems that many people don't want to work at having a successful relationship, they just want it easily or not at all.

If you love and have the love of someone who you are astrologically incompatible with then you have the ability to make it work. Love and the desire to have a relationship with the other person is what's most important.

  6. It shouldn't make a difference . . .  In a lot of cases people just fall in love and it doesnt have anything to do with " astrological compatibility". .

But  my relationships have always fit with astrological discriptions. It really depends on the charts.
