well i think that they are sertanly in the future of big wave surfing. because on the faces of those massive waves there can be waves that 1-2 feet on the wave. (wave on waves) so as you can imagine it would be very hard to surf that and the vibration on the boards feels like your in a big earth quake.  so yes i think hydro foil technology is in big wave s future, but i don't see why you would want to hydro foil small beach breaks. if you out in thew ocean it is cool because you can ride for almost a mile on one or two waves as they build up.http://hight3ch.com/post/hydrofoil-surfb...
