Do you think that if NOBODY believed in a psychic...their ability would be taken away from them?

I think if I wrote a song...and no one heard it..I would eventually lose the desire to write songs....and abilities have to be practiced to grow..I think.

If a spirit sent messages through someone...but no one cared about hearing the messages..I think the spirit would eventually give up and stop sending messages.

I think that's why the messages Edgar Cayce received stopped being circulated...because people stopped believing . If people still believed in those messages..I think that after he died..the spirits would have chosen someone else to continue sending the messages through. Maybe they did..but no one will listen or believe them. If believers stop believing..in the generations to come...maybe they'll stop trying to communicate with us.

(Anyone out there get what I'm trying to say?)lol

  1. Irrespective of whether the general populous believes in psychics, why would they lose their ability?

If everyone stopped believing that humans could breathe, would that mean that we would lose the ability? No.

  2. Do you think if nobody believed you could play the piano you would lose your ability to play the piano?

Do you think if nobody believed you could breath oxygen you would cease to be able to breath oxygen?

Normal human abilities exist regardless of the beliefs of others.

    Psi

  3. Yes, but only because their supposed ability likely doesn't exist in the first place. It's the power of expectation, or the power of suggestion, that is what propels people to take a psychic prediction and then "mine" the details of their own life to find the matches that would seem to validate the psychic's prediction. In effect, it becomes a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy because if one believes strongly enough and is willing to "interpret" what the psychic is saying, there really isn't anything stopping one from force-fitting a match between the psychic's prediction and cherry-picked details that seem to match the prediction in some way.

  4. Things only come true if you believe in the person and AGREE with their theory of your future. If you don't it is like the Bible says "if two people agree...etc, etc." You make your own future with your own thoughts. If they put a thought in your mind and you agree with it, it might happen. If you don't agree with them, then it won't happen.

  5. People love to believe weird stuff.

    It lets them feel special.

  6. Though it is true there are alot of people just wanting to make a dollar,  I believe a real psychic finds their ability within themselves. They don't depend on other peoples energy. In response to all the nonbelievers, we are so young as a race. We have only been in this universe for a spec in time. There is so much we don't understand or can even conceive of. It is pretty ignorant to throw an idea away without really knowing what you are talking about. There are energies out there that need to be exercised just like anything else. There are dimensions we don't even know about. A person with an open mind only stands to learn something.

  7. I can't think of any other ability that depends on whether or not someone believes you have it.  My ability to do calculus or speak Russian is not affected by your believing I can do such a thing.  It stands on it's own.  If psychic ability really did exist, why would it be subject to such a strange condition?

  8. The only ability "psychics" have is to fool gullible or vulnerable people, so I suppose the answer is "yes".

  9. Yes,not their psychic ability,of course.Their ability to fool people would disappear.Don't worry,I don't see that happening anytime soon.

  10. Nope.  It's there, recognized or scoffed.

  11. I think you're on to something here Denie.  Namely, that the perceived ability of psychics is in the imagination and wishful thinking of their subjects/victims.

  12. how many people actually believe in psychics to began with....they get to keep there abilities
