The reason for asking is because we have begun an organization, GreenifyNow, and that is our goal.

  1. EVERY THING IS POSSIBLE!!!

YOU MEAN MEAN HOW LIKELY IS IT.

  2. Okay, here we go.

Commercial planters frown upon planting trees closer than 6 ft by 6 ft, because trees need their space to grow.  This means that there are 1210 trees per acre in a perfect plantation.

A square mile has 640 acres in it.  So, 640 times 1210 gives you 774,400 trees per square mile (without any roads or water in the way).

Divide 774,400 trees into 1 billion trees and that gives you 1291.3 square miles of land that you need.  Good luck with that.

However, if you could squeeze the tree spacing down to 3 ft by 3ft.  That would give you 4840 trees per acre, or 3,097,600 trees per square mile.  Which, that would result in you needing 322.8 square miles of land.

    Hope this helps.

  3. not one person that's for sure but if you have the numbers of volunteers and the area to plant anything is possible also you need a confirmed supplier for that many trees and it will be tough to get a supplier to guarantee that volume of plants for free for that length of time

  4. Like mentioned above everything is possible, especially when everyone in the organization work and put their heart and soul to get to the goal its pretty much possible. =)

    Good Luck

  5. Yes

  6. Interesting question, I don't know for sure since possibilities are left up to many variables. It is good to have goals though.

However, may I suggest in your quest, including the promotion of nuclear energy. it's the safest, cleanest, most cost effective and powerful resource in the world. Unfortunately, political party's on the left have ensured fear through ignorance and lack of knowledge, than education. I think it compliments such a worthy goal as has been set before you. thank you.

  7. Of course it's possible. Don't listen to all the people who'll put you down. Yeah, your gonna need a lot of people in your organization, but it's definitely possible.

Good Luck and Thank You. You and your organization doing something really good that could change our world.

  8. If you could get a billion volunteers (1/3 of our pop.) you could do it in one day, so yes.

  9. For a single organization I would say, probably not, especially since you are just getting started. But you never know!

  10. That's a very ambitious goal; but you'll need LOTS of help to achieve it.

    Consider:

    1,000,000,000 trees / 30 years = 33,333,333 trees per year

33,333,333 trees per year / 365¼ days per year = 91,262 trees per day

91,262 trees per day / 1440 minutes per day = 63 trees per minute.

And that assumes you will have people working round the clock, 24/7/365 for a full thirty years!

    Good luck!
