Some internet based company has been sending me text messages from either a dating site or p**n site. I did not visit the site so I do not know where it is from.

  1. Your text phone number was probably sold to the p**n company by one of the contests or programs you texted. They capture your phone number and sell it to advertisers.

You can go online with your provider and block that number from texting you, or maybe you can even call customer service and complain and they can block that number from calling.

But every text you get you will pay for if your plan is a pay-as-you-go plan.

  2. I agree. I think its ridiculous that you can't reject them. If someone calls you, and you don't want to pay for airtime to talk to them, you don't have to answer. But if someone sends you a text message, you end up paying for it even if you don't read it. I've wondered how this can be legal although I've never made too big of a deal over it, since it only costs me about 30 cents a month for a few unwanted text messages that I recieve.
