Here in Texas at least, the UIL (governing body in athletics and academics in TX) won't make it a school varsity squad. It is a club sport.

  1. same here. we do have a varisty and jv team but we are considered a "club" sport. which means we have to fund everything ourselves! which means all the money comes out of our pockets!  its unfair!

  2. My team is a club. (Not trying to brag) I and the other star who plays attack on my team and my coach were talking about this last night. We decided that for our purposes we like it as a club for the fact that we schedule our own games and can have way more than if we were a school sport. But we want to be a school team because the attackman and I are good enough to get scouted by colleges and we would get scouted a lot more if we were a school sport. Although some clubs do get scouted those are only the elite clubs from our area like the Richmond Shock who are ridiculously good.
